Cavallino 2014
This year I was so busy with work I didn't have a lot of time to spend
in Florida for Cavallino but I still need to be at the show on
Saturday. I grabbed a flight down on Friday afternoon to catch the show
the next day.

Mark Dempsey was showing his 365GT 2+2, and was chasing after an
elusive Platinum Award with his car at Cavallino.

The load in was later this year and cars didn't start parking until
after 8am but the lawn filled up pretty quickly.
By 11am, it was packed with spectators and judges crowded everywhere.
Along with seeing all the cars, I stopped by the Motion Products booth
to see what new things they had.
We were all rooting for Mark to win his Platinum for this car.

Another car I had a vested interest in was Pat Lobb's Series II 330GT
2+2. I found this car for Pat about two years ago in MD, shipped it out
to Dallas so Pat's guys could restore it from him, but he sent the
engine back east to our shop for a rebuild. All the parts came back
together very nicely and I got to see it again in sunny Florida.
What a transformation from the time I loaded the car onto a truck in
Ocean City MD!

By the evening, it was announced that Mark and Pat both won Platinum
Awards! As stressful, and painstaking it was, the smile on Mark's face
in this photo was worth it. Congratulations!!!
If at all possible, I'm going to try to spend more time down at
Cavallino next time. Going down to see just the show, taking care of my
customers, and trying to meet all the people I promised to meet was too
frenetic to do in one day. It was the Vintage Ferrari version of "Speed
Dating!" It'll be different next time.
Reminder: If you have a Ferrari
related project, car, or idea
you'd like to explore, I'd love to talk to you. I can also help if
you're thinking of buying or selling. This website represents what I
love to do, and now it's how I make a living, so if you'd like to do
something together, let me know. It all begins with an e-mail!
