Re: California-to-GTE Re-body?
From ebay ad:
"52-page custom guide with instructions on completing the project"
That's hilarious! An owner's manual has more pages. I can see it now, "page 24, step 1 weld body to chassis... step 2...
Good luck with that!

Welcome to the site @johnmh.
Yeah, a 1992 Diablo may be too new and different for a forum for Vintage Ferraris, but you never know the knowledge base on this site!

Re: Question about creating Ferrari inspired art and copyright/trademark infringement
I think most people who walk the fine line with trademark infringement follow the "better to ask for forgiveness than for permission" attitude. I personally feel Ferrari tends to go after the "big fish" who are directly making replicas of their cars, or hurting their brand by changing their cars. Th...

Re: Tom you should not use ultrasonic cleaners for carburettors
Hi Pete, I am always open to ideas and advice from all sources, and wouldn't simply delete something because it does not agree with how I do things. There are many opinions on how fix these cars, and I choose what works for me and my customers. Just because I've never had an issue with ultrasonic cl...

Re: Correct torque for rear axle
Since these are not tapered bearings in the wheel hubs, there is no preload on the bearing, so the torque is not as crucial. Tight would be good, getting cotter pin to line up, even better! Compare specs on other cars, and tighten accordingly.

Re: 365 GT 2 + 2 restoration
HI A.D., I also want to make sure you removed the condenser now that you're running the pertronix system? I recently had a hot running issue that ended up being a bad condenser. You can try to relocate the coils, but engine compartment temps are much hotter than ambient, so the coils should be able ...

Re: GTE Fuel Filler Flap
Resurrecting this discussion as I’d like to ‘recreate’ the missing protective flap on #4681. It looks like the mounting holes for the clamping strip were/are there but were filled during a repaint. Flap dimensions are provided by the photos above except for the thickness. I’m guessing 2 or 3 millim...

Re: 365 GT 2 + 2 restoration
To clarify The car will be going in for paint shortly The lenses on the car are not the originals but something we had made locally which were not very good The question therefore is Where can I get the taillight lenses? I have found one supplier who has them for the GTB4 Daytona and they look the ...

Re: 330GTC Outside Mirror
Hey Tom, I see in your blog that you were talking about the screws holding on the outside mirror. Do you think that the factory installed an outside mirror on these cars? My GTC #9411 does not have one and I am fairly certain that it never has. The picture of the car you are working on when it was ...

Re: Ultrasonic cleaners
The gallon size should be just large enough to fit one carburetor. I put the jets and small parts in a glass jar and submerge it in the solution. I often use carburetor specific cleaner, but recently found dishwasher powder an excellent cheap alternative. The soap is more caustic, so i wouldn't soak...

Re: 365 GT 2 + 2 restoration
On vintage Ferrari engines, when the engine is hot, the oil pressure is usually pretty low. I like to see a little pressure, and not zero, but a tick off the bottom is common, What is important is the oil pressure reacts quickly with a little throttle. A lazy oil pressure gauge when the throttle is ...
