Hi Ron,
It can sometimes be a snug fit. Use a bigger hammer, and be careful. Good luck!

Re: Gasoline and fuel filter housings 2 questions
I saw a video once of a machine applying stamps onto an cylinder and it was a two step process. Ink was applied to a flat stamp, then it was stamped onto something that looked like a balloon, but probably with more wall thickness. The balloon with the imprint would then transfer the stamp to the irr...

Re: Gasoline and fuel filter housings 2 questions
That was what was available, but not 100% correct. They can't see the label when judging so it's not an issue on a concours level.Steve Meltzer wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2024 8:52 am Thanks Tom, My gray canister has a yellow sticker, not a stencil. It seems to me I got it sometime ago from Kilimanjaro. Thanks again Steve.

Re: Is this an example that requires technical bulletin front shock repair?
It looks like it's been done. Auction houses are not in the business of dissuading you from buying a car, so information that would put doubt in a purchase is often conveniently omitted! For all the years I've been writing and posting videos of this problem, I still see GTCs being auctioned with thi...

Re: 365 GT 2 + 2 restoration
The car is on the road and the sheer thrill of the driving experience & the roar of the V 12 is insane! She misfires a bit when cold but after the engine gets properly hot the misfire more or less disappears. One thing I am unable to understand is that on this forum and in the literature I have rea...

Re: Gasoline and fuel filter housings 2 questions
The fuel filter housing is some kind of alloy and does not rust, but corrodes like aluminum. I wouldn't coat it with anything.

Re: Undercoating
Melchior, Tom: After I researched undercoating many years ago, I came to the conclusion, it was applied by the following method: 1. A man actually laid on his back under the car and shot the undercoating straight up toward the body/chassis. This is why the sides of the frame and other areas are not...

Yes, I've seen lots of undercoating sprayed onto the frame in the curved sections rising over the rear axle.

Re: Position of number plate
The only way to know is to try it! I have found the stock cooling system and 250 engine tend to run cooler than a 330. Idling in traffic with the stock fan seems to keep the car cool even though the design seems pretty inefficient. I have found the 330s, with a larger displacement with more heat to ...

Re: Securing plate for droop stop rubber
Hello Tom, I guess you mean these 2 welded parts (please see picture/marked blue), right? Does you car have the two securing plates shown in the 330 catalog on Tavola 29 (parts 46 and 47) that seem to secure the rubber part (45)? Yes, those are the plates, you should have appropriately sized nuts a...

Re: Testing a zero pressure radiator cap
There is pressure on the cap on the top of the radiator on the 330 GTC becasue the cap on the expansion tank has a pressure spring on it. The flat seal with the nipple is available from Ciccoginani.
