Wow, I've never heard of brake fluid being sucked into a carburetor. How is that possible? Does the power brake booster use engine vacuum to actuate the brake master cylinder and then a seal between the vacuum side and the fluid side let go? Until you mentioned the brake fluid, my thought right away...
Hi Guys, I would love to get together for a drive, but I still need to get tie rod ends installed, and new tires! If I can get these done in the next couple of weeks, then maybe we can do something for the weekend of the 16th or the 23rd of October. We could use my house in Columbia C...

Other than the front end, what is "Ferrari" about this particular one? It has a "350" V8 engine in it, which I would guess is the original Jeep engine that came with the vehicle. Nothing special about the drivetrain at all. Now, the other, true "Jerrari" that I saw at the National Auto Museum in Ren...
Did it have the rear license plate mounted in plastic holder on rear package shelf? If so, see pix of car on www.newcanaanmotorsports.com website under the 2003 rally and show area. Jack
Sorry, couldn't tell. I was headed south at er, a brisk pace, and the GTE was doing likew...

250GTE Sighting
A very nice red 250GTE spotted on Monday, September 13 around 6 p.m. heading north on the Merritt Parkway near exit 38 in Norwalk, CT, while I was headed south.
Commuter car, possibly?

Happy Anniversary Tom!
Five years today since you became an owner. I'll bet that the time has seemed to alternate between creeping along (how long before I finish this project?) and absolutely flying by. Congratulations! Look at all that you have accomplished in 5 years, both with the car and in other areas. Let's all hoi...

Regarding your thoughts about relative safety with the flatbed versus the trailer, I think that a properly set up and balanced enclosed trailer with a good tow vehicle and electric brakes for the trailer is an extremely safe alternative. I have towed a 20 foot enclosed trailer with a vintage Turner ...

Hi Guys The concours is held in the middle of the big grass field in front of the State House building in downtown Hartford. In good weather they have a tent and a stage set up for a band (at least they did 2 years ago, last year they moved up to the driveway/parking area because of the rain) and so...

Well if the other cars being considered are Citroen DS and SM, you will have nothing to fear about maintenance issues for a 400i, which pales in comparison to those cars, particularly the SM! BTW, the restoration link was to Simon, who has documented some amazing work on his 400 and has put togethr ...

I've owned a 400i for 5 1/2 years and 11,000 miles and I can tell you that it hasn't needed "$4-5K of maintenance every year" or even close to that. I've rebuilt the alternators, bought new tires, charged up and replaced seals on the A/C, replaced the rear brake pads, done some work on the fuse box ...
