front brake caliper piston seals
The reassembly continues - albeit at a glacial pace....... Does anybody have a good source of brake caliper piston seals. As I work my way through the braking system, I found a rebuild kit for the master cylinder locally, got the booster cylinder for the front brakes working with a lot of elbow grea...

Re: fuel pipe
Thanks everybody for your input. McMaster-Carr will have to come through again. I'm not fussy enough to care whether or not the tubing is copper plated, as long as I can re-silver solder the fittings I've removed from the original pipe.

Does anybody have any leads on 250GT metal fuel tubing? It's obviously larger than 3/8 and smaller than 1/2.

Re: Brake Booster Rebuild
I had mine overhauled by Karp's Brake Service in Upland CA. They seem to have done a good job, although I'm still reassembling the car so haven't been able to test their work.

Re: Parking brake cable
I needed to replace the handbrake cable housing on my Lusso. It took a lot of searching to find the 3mm ID housing, but finally the local Yamaha dealer directed me to MotionPro (motionpro.com) Cables. I was able to buy 10 feet of 3 mm cable housing and 4 end caps for $30. They will fabricate custom ...

Re: Can there be a more miserable task?
I've already responded to John Vardanian off line, but for anybody else's info ---- I threaded a piece of twine around all the pulleys and winding drum in the right door of my Lusso, duplicating the routing of the cable. My car has an idler pulley that can be slid in a couple of slots on the Y shape...

Re: Home at last
It's a bit of a misnomer to say 4437 is whole yet, as there are hundreds of small parts that need to be reassembled, including the entire wiring harness. At least most of the tasks are can be accomplished without heavy equipment and it a definable time span, parts availability notwithstanding. Mike ...

Re: Home at last
To avoid paint damage from the inevitable dropped tool, she'll be painted after all major mechanical assembly's done. The color will be the gunmetal grey.

Home at last
After 6 years (or is it 7, my CRS is getting worse all the time) of “alternative housing” while its primary residence was being renovated, 4437’s engine is back home again. A couple of hours, 4 weak minded and strong backed friends, a cherrypicker hoist, a few beers, minimal cussin’ and swearin’, an...

Lusso generator/alternator switchover
Does anybody know when alternators were installed on Lusso's instead of generators? 4437 has had a Delco installed at some point, and the original has disappeared into the mists of time.

Brake line flares
Thanks everybody for all your ideas. I'm not sure which I'll do yet, but one of them should get my brakes connected.

Brake line flares
My Lusso's left front brake line is almost worn through in a couple of spots, and all the premade brake lines and flaring tools available out here in the boonies have a concave flare rather than the convex "bubble" flares on the original brake lines and fittings. Can anybody give me any leads on eit...

250 Master cylinder
My local NAPA store found a cross listing for a rebuild kit. As I recollect from the picture in the parts book, it included at least the piston, seals, and spring. It did not, unfortunately, include the bellows, but a rebuilt master cylinder was available, which did include the bellows. Steele Rubbe...
