Re: Daytona Driveability Problem
Long shot: could something be loose/collapsed in the engine/clutch housing/drivetrain/engine trans-axle set-up/mounts so that the drive train binds up when the enormous torque is used at low revs killing the engine as a result?

Re: Clips for carburator linkage
Fiat/Lancia part number 10124776. Google it and you'll find several vendors.

Re: Clips for carburator linkage
I think Fiats and Lancias with Weber carbs used the same clips until mid 70s or so...

Is the car parked on an absolutely even surface? I once parked one of my front wheels in a small hole and almost freaked out when I saw how the rear of the car tilted!

Adjustment is on top of the regulator. It controls the spring inside that cuts of pressure.

Re: 330 America 5109
Would be interesting to know the engine number as stamped on the bell housing (top left side). This is one of the few that is still missing in my data, should be a 17xx..18xx-number with suffix /62E.

Re: 250GTE Rear Springs and Shocks
I am pretty confident that once you've had the springs removed, you will see what is wrong with them.

Re: 1960's Ferrari Keys
Be very careful when buying blanks. All sorts of modern profiles are frequently described on Ebay as genuine 250GT ignition keys. Have never seen a correct CEAM blank being offered. Giobert is correct, but I forget where it fits: trunk and glove box maybe? These were separated so you can leave your ...

Soda forms acidic compounds so if it gets trapped, it will eat its way out over time. Paint may flake of. Sand is heavy and will heat up the metal if the pressure is too high and the blasting angle too big. As a result metal deforms easily. Small amounts are ok where needed, complete paint removal w...

Re: Stamping a Label
For example, how can one be sure if one is attempting to buy a car with reproduction tag that was replaced due to original actually being missing or for perhaps more sinister, undisclosed reasons ? My point exactly. I have done a lot of research on individual cars and everytime I find something tha...

Re: Warped carb base
Zinc alloy items (both DCZ and DCS were made of Zamac) snap right of if you try to bend them. The only way to cold work the material is sharp blows with a hammer as they send dislocation waves through the crystal boundaries and the geometry changes by each blow (I am a M. Sc. with training in metall...

Re: Stamping a Label
My opinion is that serial number stampings should not and cannot be replaced. It is like replacing an old coin in your collection with something that you made up. When faking a serial number stamping (which is completely missing), it should be clearly documented that it is a reproduction. This is wh...

Re: oil filter
Several blogs have reported pretty questionable findings over the years after cutting up Fram filters for inspection. Baldwins are great. I also enjoy the local distributor who cares to answer my eventual questions about their products. It is particularly important to use a high quality by-pass filt...

Re: [SEARCH] Parts needed
Markus, such an early car was delivered without a back-up light. A provision to fit a Marchal 530 was added late in 1961 and many owners have tried to mimic that installation without really knowing what they are doing often installing the light to hang from the bumper. I would actually try to find a...
