Re: Fixing holes in the glove box door

You and me both Steve, that damned badge was mounted with two 5/16" holes through the dash. I have some teak plugs but I'm trying to figure out how to blend them into the existing finish, which is still that satin semi-gloss clear. I'm afraid of the slippery slope that forces me to refinish the whol...

Re: Gauge lighting

Peter, thank you kindly for the thoughtful comprehensive reply. I think I will just try replacing the instrument and warning lights. I'm not too worried about the color, but if I have a choice I'll take your advice, I just need everything brighter. I'm not too worried about the dimmer, I don't think...

Gauge lighting

Hello all, now that the days are shorter and my vision is not what it used to be, I'd like to increase the brightness of the instrument lights. (330 GTC) I've already cleaned the rheostat and connections and my column switch has been refurbished. I wonder if taking apart and cleaning up the dash tog...

Re: Daytona Bell Housing

Hi Steve, that looks really fresh, did you clean the sheared end of the stud off too? it looks twisted in there. You will need to remove the housing to fix it. Of course examine the clutch while you are at it, maybe you will get lucky and find the car needs a clutch job, saving another housing remov...

Re: Pinifirina Body Number

I think I have seen numbers stamped on my doors (A GTC with a build date early 1968) but can't remember what they were. For sure my car has a Pininfarina number stamped on the trunk floor under the spare tire. I also recall seeing a number on the horizontal shelf above the brake booster, but I don't...

Re: GTC Parts

There was someone advertising GTC parts in FML, doors, and glass I think, you might need to search the back issues.

Sorry that should be Roush and Apen, blame the aggressive spell check, it took typing it three times to stop it from trying to think for me.

Re: 365GT 2+2 Brake rotor specifications?

Here's what I have shown below. It's interestng that the second number given is not stated to be absolute minimum, rather it says "minimum after reconditioning" does this mean the actual wear limit is thinner? And what might that be? When I checked my rotors I just used the range given as max. and m...

You might get more interest on the Samba website as those red tip Hirschmans are coveted by the Porsche 356 guys.

Balancing type 32 wheels

I can't seem to find the adaptor needed to properly seat a Borrani/Campy wheel with type 32 splines on a modern tire balancing machine. Adaptors are available for British cars but I've only found 42 mm, which I assume they mean type 42. Type 32 are used on the GTC and 275 I can make the adaptor myse...

Re: Locking out the advance on Daytona distributor

Steve, since the throttle plates are not being moved and no extra air is getting in, it does indeed sound like a distributor advance problem. There may be some undo friction or bad springs, or things are just gunked up, so when things get warmed up you get inconsistencies. It could also be some othe...

Re: Locking out the advance on Daytona distributor

Steve does this mystery rise in RPM occur as the engine goes from a cold engine to warm? Will it re-set itself if you shut down and re-start?

Re: Tom-Update on electric fuel pump upgrade?

Running the new wire was easy. I ran it through the tunnel of course then through the an existing wire grommet. The great thing is the new switch, it is of course in the original position on the console and there is no confusion that when the switch is in the up position the modern pump is running. ...
