Valve Stem Protectors

Hello, Does anybody have the original valve stem protectors of the Borrani wheels? I need an expressive foto and drawing with the measurements to machine these. Also the kind of plating is of my interest - ate these cadmium plated or chromed? Can anybody help please? Thank you and best regards, Martin

Re: 2 alloy tubes under the oil filler plug?!

Hello John, thank you for this information. Why did you remove these tubes? And to all others: is it possible that some GTE‘s have been equipped like this or is it definitely a later post delivery conversion of one of the pre-owners? The filler cap does have the two connecting branches at the bottom...

2 alloy tubes under the oil filler plug?!

Hello, Yesterday I was with some experts for classic Ferraris and they said that they never saw 2 alloy tubes going down from the oil filler plug but just one thicker alloy tube and a thinner hose. I am very sure that these thinner alloy tubes my series II 250 GTE has are original. Both, the thicker...

Re: Progress on Brakes

Thank you Chris and John! I made a typing error, the diameter of my piston is 16mm - see picture. What I do not understand is the previous post of Mike from 4th of May 2010: I will happily submit to any flaming if I am wrong but I think the 3mm rod is designed to generate a bit of pull back on the ...

Re: Progress on Brakes

Hi, I am restoring this brake booster right now and was able to dissemble the unit properly. I will have a new piston machined from stainless steel and will replace the bushing in the booster housing as both show little corrosion and it is my understanding that there should be as little play as poss...

Re: Pedal box disassembly

Thank you John and Kerry for your help! I checked my library again and found that I have the documents but did not look carefully enough at first sight. I understand that there is no special way to dissemble the pedal box. I do have the problem that the shaft cannot be removed. Do you think that pre...

Re: Pedal box disassembly

Hello John, thank you for your help. Have removed all parts already, it is just that the shaft of the clutch sits so tight in the cone that I can‘t remove it without force. Did you use a pull-off tool or how could you pull out part no 5 of your drawing? The explosion drawing is very helpful, out of ...

Pedal box disassembly

Hello,

does anybody know how to disassemble the pedal box of a 250 GTE? I have opened up the screws of the cone but can‘t remove it. The ball bearings are pressed in obviously - how can I take all parts appart without destroying the soft aluminium parts?

Thank you and best regards,

Martin

Glass for rear window and ashtray for 250 GTE needed

Hello,

I am looking for an original glass panel for the rear window (no reproduction) of my 250 GTE as well as for an undamaged original ash tray with the flag logo on it.

Can anybody help?

Best regards,

Martin

Re: 250 Gte vent in drivers footwell

Last message - I promise :)

Chris texted me that I probably misunderstood Tom´s question - the vent covers in the foot panels left & right have the same colour like the one under the dashboard at the driver side.

cheers, Martin

Re: 250 Gte vent in drivers footwell

One more thing about the leather: it is the original leather - has all the stamps and marks on the back side, but was restored and recoloured by me. The colour is very close to the original but the look of course is rather new now. You can see the exact difference at the foto attached as the seats h...
