Hey Chuck - I'm delighted to hear the very positive news thus far. I'm looking forward to clinking a wine glass with you next August or hopefully sooner.

XS10: no disrespect meant to Alfas, Lambos or Masers, as there are plenty of each I'd love to own. I was simply looking for a quick way of referring to a lower-cost-of-entry vehicle that I thought most people would recognize.

Congratulations and well done!

Tom: Congratulations on a very well deserved third place at the FCA National Concours. In a time where "checkbook restorations" predominate, and probably take virtually all the swag home from the headline events, it's encouraging to the rest of us that if you work hard enough, long enough, and (ahem...

Sorry I got a little carried away in my post above, guys. Blame the combination of a little too much Merlot and not quite enough solid food prior to seeing the thread...

The vintage V-12 on a steel test stand that was fired up at Concorso a few years back was in the hands of our own esteemed T. Shaughnessy. Leave it to Mr. S. to simultaneously enthrall and horrify alternate segments of an audience, whether it's Concorso Italiano, the Quail, or wherever. It's what he...

All: Much to my surprise, one of the seven 250 Interim Berlinettas was at the Monterey Historics this past weekend. I was able to talk to owners Tony and Lulu Wang (Lulu was the driver) after the morning warmup Sunday and get some details on the car. This is an inside plug 128D engine. And due to Lu...

Wow - two great responses already, including a Le Mans picture. Thanks, guys! T3: the Max Meyer reference is pretty clear in some of the other mentions I've found, and it doesn't seem to reference the paint code/color. Here's what I'm talking about: http://www.ferraribuy.com/fb/datab/250GT.htm If th...

Anyone know Interim Berlinetta #1377GT?

Hi all: Can anyone help with history and/or pictures of 250 Interim Berlinetta # 1377GT, or with the cast of characters below? Thanks in advance for any help. Here’s what the Barchetta website has on the car: http://www.barchetta.cc/english/All.Ferraris/Detail/1377GT.250GT.htm So can anyone enlighte...

Nice find, Roger. Coupla questions for the group, though, about the engine and trans listed/pictured as being from a GTE. The oil fillers being located on the cam sprocket housings seem more characteristic of a 330, and the transmission case and shifter housing don't look quite like either of mine a...

Guys: I don't think the problem is in the position of the plate, it's in the usage of the car. Take a look at where the plate is mounted relative to the accelerator pedal travel. In deciding where to mount the plate, the factory obviously envisioned much more time spent with the driver's foot pressi...

Campagnolo is actually a client of mine and I was about to offer to pass your question on to them to see what they had to say. But they actually sold off the wheel portion of the business many years ago and reading the comments in this thread, I think you'll get a lot more useful information here th...

Hi Steve: I'm away on vacation at the moment so I can't check, but the Pininfarina parts book may show something useful - anyone else have it? There's also a section view of the complex rocker panel area in Len Miller's literature compendium for the GTE. Will be glad to scan and forward or post that...

I believe nearly all PF bodies from this era have the infamous upper and lower floors with the insulation in between. My GTE and my cab certainly do. I think everyone here would be interested in your pics. A previous owner replaced the original floor pan sections in the rear of my GTE with a simple ...

Only problem is, the modern FIAMM stuff is completely different from the horns and compressors used in our cars. My GTE has FIAMM horns, but the cabriolet has Marchal Stridors - maybe an early owner change-out, who knows? And a ratty Marchal compressor and a single horn bigger than either of the the...
