Is the car worth $35K? Considering the the engine is worth $15K, the transmission is probably worth $5K, and the rear diff at $3-5K (easily converted to a Lusso), you can see how the car can be worth that kind of money. Ironically it's worth more split up, than in one piece, that is why Shaughnessy ...

Hi Marcel, If I had to make an educated guess, it could be something clogging the pickup in the oil pump. There is also a soft hose that sits between the pickup and the pump that could be leaking and allowing air to suck in at higher revs. I believe you can remove the oil pan to have a look. Hopeful...

That's the same color I'm using! FYI if you're considering bidding, I bought 5 hides for my 330 America interior restoration, and I've got 3/4 of a hide left with the interior almost done. Two seaters will require less leather not only because of less seats, but also because the door panel details r...

Hi Guys, Francois said that he would cut my choke cable if I tried to use it on my car. He feels that the linkages never withdraw correctly and affect the warm running mixture when you push the cable back in. It's easier to warm the car up with extra throttle on cold mornings than screw up the mixtu...

I'd have to agree with Mike and not buy the Stebro system again. They gave me a good price, and helped fabricate the missing y-pipes from another car, but their system still required some tweaking...and then there is the sound. I haven't heard my car from the side of the road as it is driving by at ...

Hi Ian, Depending on who you buy the exhaust from, it will either have a shiny 304 stainless look (Tubi) or a dull 401 stainless look. I'm told paint will have trouble sticking to either stainless steels, but I spray painted my 401 stainless pipes with a semi gloss black paint made by Wurth. The 401...

Hi Guys, Thanks for your concern on the welfare of my hands! The glue that we use for the seats really makes using gloves impossible. It's a contact adhesive, and when it dries, it'll stick to itself like nothing in this world! Getting it on bare skin allows you to rub it off, but you can forget abo...

Hi Bernard, http://www.tomyang.net/cars/headers5.jpg I sent mine to "Jet-Hot" for thir "High Performance Ceramic" coating. The same stuff Jim used. The black satin finish looked great, and I didn't do any surface prep on my headers. http://www.tomyang.net/cars/ferrari67.htm http://www.tomyang.net/ca...

Hi Michael, I met someone a couple of years ago at the GTE Registry cocktail party that was working on an electronic ignition for Ferrari V-12s. I have the pamphlet somewhere, but I can't seem to find it right now. The theory was to time the ignition event off one distributor to alleviate the possib...

Good point John. It's probably a good idea to keep a set of points (or two, for the Ferrari) in the tool kit. Since my car starts and runs great, I'm going to leave well enough alone, but having the option of a Pertronics set up sound great when it becomes cheaper than points in the long run. It's t...

Hi Yale, First, dwell changes as the points wear, but electronic ignition eliminates this mechanical switch with solid state. Second, the triggering of the points are affected by many factors including worn distributor bushings and lobes, but electronic ignition can lessen these issues with either a...
