Re: bleeding brakes
I have always been taught that the little retractor pins and springs are the mechanism which causes the pads to retract when the pressure is released. The other mechanism is the slight runout of the rotor moving the pistons back into the caliper cylinders.

Re: bleeding brakes
John: Check the small hole behind the MC o-ring which open to the reservior. That was what caused my SWB to hold pressure. The o-ring had swollen and the piston was not able to clear the orifice. We took a .020" cut off the piston. Probably not the best procedure, but it worked. Bob

When I had my SWB, I tried to use silicon brake fluid and found that it was not compatible with the seals in the MC and calioers. The relief port to the reservoir was being blocked by a swollen o-ring and the pressure ...

Re: Undercoating
Hi John I have always had better luck with an aerosol product which produces a "splatter" type coating rather than a non aerosol. I am not familiar with the Wurth product, but it would seem not to produce a rough coat.

John: Do you have a picture of the "proper" hose you can post? Both of my cars have had a cloth covered rubber hose without any ribs.

I bought the inside donut seal from GT Parts in AZ and sourced the buna-N O-ring from a local industrial hardware store.

Re: Brake Caliper Pistons
John, do you have a metal part that looks sort of like an oil seal? I had one in mine and then another rubber ring was inside of the metal. I could not find a recommended seal, but put a heavy o-ring inside. I have not added fluid and bled the system yet, but I think it will seal.

According to a Moss Motors blog, Castrol claims to have renamed Castrol LMA to Castrol Dot 4 Brake Fluid. The product is the same.

Re: Courtesy lights on a GTC
Hi Peter: Since they do not get very hot, you might try spraying the glass with a yellow to orange color spray paint. Before the cars came with color dash lights we would dip the bulb in an enamel to get he desired color
