Hudson,
Perhaps you'd like to brave the roads with the 330, and join us in Alameda for All Italian Day on October 9?

Re: Airport baggage
On a less amusing note, after spending much time locating (in Holland), and paying (a considerable sum) for a piece of curved tempered glass for an Alfa Romeo Junior Zagato, and being patient about shipping, it finally arrived yesterday. It had been wrapped in a t-shirt, one layer of (small) bubble ...

Re: Airport baggage
I've had all kinds of fun stuff with me, from coils of 24k gold wire (deadly, no?), tabla drums packed along with tach and speedo cables, to an 9" long articulated silver fish. In Grand Rapids, Mich., of all places, they were worried about the frozen cherries we had with us. A bombe' perhaps? The mo...

Re: Dwell Setting
Tom, et al, Thanks, I actually agree with you, for all the same reasons. I've never liked the idea of black boxes either, preferring points and coils as diagnosable, and repairable. I've put many miles on points, and the few times I've had issues I could always make it home. The closest I've ever co...

Re: Dwell Setting
I have a similar situation on some of my V6 Lancias, that is, a three lobe twin point distributor, except that a V6 is less forgiving than a V12. If everything is perfect, proper gap gives correct dwell (Lancia didn't even specify dwell, just gap), and all that's needed is timing the distributor(s)....

Re: Carb Synching (the sequal)
On my 40DCZ/Ls, all the clamps are original die-cast zinc (Zamak). Using the same material throughout negates problems with differing rates of expansion. We had an Aurelia Convertible that came in with a loose clamp. It idled just fine, but was a bit anemic running on three cylinders at speed. Missi...

Re: Preproduction 0891GT versus S1 PF coupe
Pardon my commentary from the peanut gallery, without introduction. When Cornelius is referring to messing, he's not talking about how clean you work. It's German for brass. And if I may, in regards to his assumption re the advent of the self-canceling column turn signal switch, Lancia used them in ...
