Re: 1965 330 Series 1 Sun Visor repair
I don't know whether it would work for the thicker vinyl on the visor, but believe it or not, these cheap handheld "heat sealers" (https://www.amazon.com/Premium-Heat-Sealer-Food-Saver/dp/B01I2GFIZA/ref=sr_1_3_sspa?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1507835765&sr=1-3-spons&keywords=heat+bag+sealer&psc=1) wor...

Re: Air trompets
It would be helpful to see an end picture of the base to get a better idea. From the picture you have, the base looks like the right era Fiamm horn for 60's Ferraris. The trumpets with the bend at the end don't look like any Ferrari horn I've seen. The only Ferrari trumpets I've seen have straight t...

Re: How to search for phrase?
Most forum search tools are not very good. The forum software that Tom's site uses seems to have a better search function than most, but often the best way to search forums is to use a site-specific search on Google like this -> "water temperature" site:tomyang.net (<- enter this into Google).

Re: Trunk latch
There is a noticeable protrusion on mine that is not on your's . That is why it stays open that amount for me. This must be from a different model Ferrari , anybody have an extra Latch. I think this one could be made into the proper one with a little work. Thanks for the pictures. Rob. Does it look...

Re: Trunk latch
That is possible, it was disassembled when we have it refinished. I will try to switch it in the morning but that sounds like the best explanation. Thanks guys I will let you know in the morning . Rob. Rob, If you can post a picture of the latch flipped over, and angled a bit from the back instead ...

Re: Trunk latch
From your photo, it looks to me like the pivoting piece on the latch is turned around 180 degrees. I don't have a photo, but I think the larger end of the pivoting arm should come out the rear end of the latch. Instead it seems like the spring end of the pivot is coming out the rear of the latch. It...

Re: Instrument Panel Lights
Maybe a less confusing way to say the above is that the dash rocker serves as a "master switch" that turns on the instrument lights and "enables" the headlight stalk. Thanks everyone. So, Peter, more scientifically, in order for the instrument lights to come on, the headlights have to be on first. ...

Re: Instrument Panel Lights
Hi John, I don't know if it's the same on a PF, or even if it has the same controls, but on my 330 GT, the light rocker in the dash turns on the instrument lights, independent of the stalk on the steering column that actually turns on the lights (first detent) and high beams (second detent). The hea...

Re: rocker panel trim end shapes
I looked at mine and both ends are angled, but the end at the front of the car seems to be less angled than the rear. In fact, on the car, the front looks like it is not angled at all, but I think that is an optical illusion from the trapezoidal shape of the trim combined with the fender well curvin...

Re: Plastic Repairs
Unfortunately, John, I haven't had to use any pigment in my repairs, so I can't help regarding which pigment to use or how to use it. That said, for matching a vintage-weathered color, it seems like it might be easier to get a color match with a pigment-based approach (where you can tweak the amount...

Re: Plastic Repairs
Thanks Peter. I'd like to use something that is black and can be polished. I'm trying to fill in some divides in the window crank knobs. I think you could easily add pigment to make it black. It can definitely be shaped, sanded, and polished to exactly match the shape and sheen of the existing plas...

Re: Plastic Repairs
It might help to post pictures so that we can see exactly what you are trying to repair, but I've found the JB Weld "stick" products to be very useful for this type of repair. The JB Weld comes in various forms steel, wood, plastic, ec. The "steel" stuff sets up way too fast (less than 5 minutes aft...
