Hi Mike,

Good luck on the 330!

I don't think you're being corny at all! I know I've definitely made my mark on #5053, and it may very well carry this mark longer than I will be around!

Hi Mike, There is a small boxed section that runs along the length of the rocker that we used to weld to. Having this makes the anchor stonger considering the sheet metal the previous owner used to repair the rocker was not very thick. With the carpeting installed, we shouldn't see a thing. Thanks f...

Hi Ade,

Mike has been a invaluable help with those seatbelt anchors, but I warned him about doing too good of a job because of all the other projects I'll have lined up for him and his shop!

To think some people did buy these 2+2 cars at the $150K+ level! The 80s were a crazy time with uneducated investors driving up the prices of every type of car. I don't think this will happen again, but the Real Estate Market seems to be doing the same thing again today! The reasons have changed, bu...

Hi Guys, Don't think Mike is missing anything here when it comes to buying this car if he buys wisely. If no major pieces are missing that will cost a fortune to replace, and if nothing is terribly broken, he won't loose his shirt. Making a profit? well... It's all a matter of perspective. People wh...

I think the term "running" is left to a large range of interpretation!

The market is going up, but occasionally a deal can be found. Also remember, that these are asking prices. What the car actually sells for may be different.

Hi Mike, I would agree with Tom (Treue) when it comes to price. It probably needs a ton of work. This doesn't necessarily mean to abandon this project, but just be aware of the consequences. These 2+2 cars have a ton of parts that are useable for other Ferraris of that vintage, so the sellers always...

Hi Luke, Thanks for the story! It really makes me want to live somewhere that I can drive my car year round, but then I'd have to give up all the other things that NYC has to offer, like security checkpoints, dropping murder rates, and drug stores on every corner! It's 33 degrees outside, so the rai...

Wishing for Spring

O.K, I know it's only January, but I've had enough of the snow and the cold weather! It's worse when you've got a Vintage Ferrari waiting to be driven! With snow in the forcast for my "Ferrari Frday" it doesn't look like I'll be working on my car this week! Can I live vicariously through the guys in...

Hi Luke,

Have fun on your "Anti-Football Run." With about 8 inches of snow on the ground where I keep my car, it may have to wait until spring to take the America out for some exersize!

Hi Bernard, Using Helicoils keeps you from having to take the sump cover off, but taking it off to do this proceedure with the cover off the car, insures that metal particles don't get inside the sump. If you choose to have the cover helicarc welded with aluminum, and re-tap the threads, it will cer...

Hi Bernard, Kerry (330GT) addressed this issue recently: http://www.parrotbyte.com/kbc/ferrari/OilDrainPlug.htm Helicoils are a common fix for bunged up threads, but Kerry's solution is a better one. If your mechanic uses Helicoils, make sure he doesn't break off the "tang" inside the sump. He'll kn...
