Re: GTC fuel gauge problem

Steve, back square one. What was the reason for replacing the sending unit ? Was it acting in same way as its replacement, showing only partial range ? Cornelis, I'm not quite fully familiar with GTC, but Daytonas which came soon after seem to feature electrical components from large variety of manu...

Any one know what model(s) they are intended for ? 330 GTC/GTS ? Others ?

Re: GTC fuel gauge problem

Is the sending unit and its float arm correct (O.E.M.) for your application or is it "generic" replacement item ? If later it may not have accurate ohm range to correlate with your dash gauge. Did you checked the"calibration" to make sure the float arm full range travel inside the tank correlates wi...

Re: Daytona Cam Covers

Do you also have to remove the bolts that go in horizontally from the distributor ends. Yes. It also helps if you loosen the lower ones slighty and have a thin sheet metal "installation" tool handy during re-assembly to prevent o-rings in the front end of the covers getting misaligned or ripped. Th...

Re: 250 GTE Tire recommendations

... learn from others experience. +1 With all due respect to all, but OP was asking tire recommendations for driving purposes and therefor IMO any based on real and preferably substantial driving experiences are probably only ones that really count. So I'm with Yale, if any one wishes to offer a re...

... way too much to do, in too short a time,... I know exactly what you mean, sir. I arrived to Monterey on Monday the 11th after concluding my annual 2 day, 430 mile "pilgrimage" journey through the desert, over the mountains and up the coastline driving mostly back roads and 2-lane hi-ways in my ...

Re: Daytona spark plugs

Sorry to hijack this thread a bit, but I have a question to Mr. Ridgely. Were you at Laguna Seca last Friday, sir? Saw Tom Y. there and had some interesting discussions with him, but forgot to ask if he knew of your possible attendance or whereabouts. I was hoping to have the honor of making your ac...

Re: Daytona spark plugs

I can't really see how use of a specific brand of plugs or tuning stage of the engine would offer more or less potential for damaging the plug hole threads on the cylinder head, but then again there are many other things in life or on cars I don't fully understand either. Over tightening or cross th...

Re: Novice voltage regulator question

Steve, can't say for sure on 330CGTC, but on Daytona voltage regulator is usually found under the dash, left of steering column (at least on LHD cars) even though wiring schematics might suggest it being located somewhere on the right side of engine bay. Generator is often referenced as Dynamo in Eu...

Re: Re-silvering a late 330 GT mirror

Haven't done any for 330GT per se, but have for variety of other vintage cars. Most have had similar designs. Your assessment of assembly methods and construction seem quite accurate. Edge of housing usually "rolled" or more specifically pressed over with dies. Rivets hold the (spring loaded) retain...

Very likely none of us do, but it seem to occur occasionally to most of us when working on vintage cars.

Re: 365 GT 2+2

OK, I'll take a crack at this even though I've never replaced one on a "Queen" before, but with plenty experience on other makes/models. First and with all due respect, may I ask how experienced are you with services like this in general ? What type of facilities and equipment are you attempting to ...
