Re: 250 GTE 'Rumble' in drivetrain
P.S. Allowing another service provider to take over will likely lead to additional and possibly excessive cost over-runs since they may have to dig deeper just to gain full understanding of the all previously performed work and since they're now becoming responsible for the outcome.

Re: 250 GTE 'Rumble' in drivetrain
Opinions ? Well, as a "professional" restorer and vintage car services provider, here's mine, although it should be applicable for any (service) industry. First, unless there are severely compelling reasons not to, I would highly recommend consulting person(s) or shop providing final assembly/instal...

John John, I know its your car and carburetors to do what you wish, but "milling" the carburetor bases to get them flat is not necessaily a smart way to correct the...

I don't, but if accessible, you might try to measure the offset travel of that pump drive lobe on camshaft.

Re: POR 15
Is this stuff compatible with the new fuels on the market with lots of alcohol? etc C. I believe this might be your answer. I've personally never used any "inside" tank sealer and have always advised against them because I've seen and had to deal with tanks previously coated with some and in all ca...

O.K. Timo, I set the forum to allow editing for 15 minutes after your initial post for everyone! Tom Thanks Tom Y. I know you've previously explained reasons behind your decision for not allowing self-editing, but can't remember them now. For some one like me (with OCD) any little leeway helps, alt...

Re: clutch woes
Tom (in SoCal), Have you consulted your service manual and established your clutch specs are within given tolerances ? Based on my (limited) experiences on Daytonas (which according to my 330 GTC service manual appear to have similar flywheel/clutch assembly, but cable instead of hydraulically opera...

Re: Pininfarina Paint
Acrylic laquer is a single stage, 2 component (color & reducer, also known as "thinner") paint which usually does not require heating for curing. It can be painted over if proper cleaning and other preparations are performed, but might be advisable to seal it prior to application of any subsequent s...

Tim: If you purchase a Lucas fan motor, be sure to check the direction of rotation. As I recall, Jag fans rotate the opposite direction from Ferrari fans. The rotation of the motors can be reversed. I had this happen to me once, when I kneeled down to look in the grille opening to check the fan ope...

Re: Daytona Driveability Problem
Car is converted to full Euro specs. OK, could you perhaps elaborate with more details ? Which, if not all, components have been replaced or (how) modified as Euro ? It's just that your above statement prompted an theoretical idea, which may or may not have any effect, but I'd like to know more det...
