Re: Battery
One of the details that seems to be a big hurdle for Italian sports cars is obtaining a show quality battery. I am not a fan of stickers applied to generic, period, almost tar top batteries. Sticker batteries, to me, started in the late 70's or maybe even the 80's. Most likely i will see a correct b...

Re: Horn Detailing
Perfect! Thanks Craig. This ball was knocking around in the box of parts and I wondered where it came from. It was a pure guess on my part that it might be from the bottom of the shaft. Thanks for confirming. Now that it is all painted and ready to assemble, I am finding that once the two (bottom) ...

Re: Horn Detailing
Hello,Has anyone noticed if there a small ball at the end of the armature shaft? I am not talking about the ball at the top of the same shaft that locks the blower rotor in place. This is a smaller ball that may fit into a receptacle hole at the bottom of the shaft. Thanks.john It is there, i belie...

Re: Horn Detailing
Just another data point of some importance, as it appears to show pretty clearly a "8J". The badge in itself shows no TP.AR. numbers following, so to me, this is another indication of an early badge. Since the machine screws are painted, the paint probably has been refreshed. My records so far indic...

Re: Horn Detailing
This is approximate at best, but the length of the green line imposed on both horns is the same. It suggests the upper horn being the longer. john Definitely long trumpet on top based on close up. Interesting slanted, early bracket.....tends to put the flares very close together. Have we got a phot...

Re: 365 GT 2 + 2 restoration
Can anyone detail this sketch to show exactly what the mechanics are here. This is a simple plug i show, but this may be something else.
I hope you get more detail to proceed.
Craig

Re: Horn Detailing
I took this picture over a year ago and can't tell which trumpet should goes where. Any guesses? john Hi John, great before photo, probably your best documentation to answer the question...i can't tell , but looks like short on top. I looked over my documentation so far and i thought, early on, i w...

Re: 365 GT 2 + 2 restoration
AD, I am sure everyone would agree, I think you need the advice of someone who has dealt with these exact plugs first hand. We have all seen pipe plugs used in similar fashion, but i believe the most common is a steel pipe plug into alloy threads. If this is alloy to alloy, it means the plug has les...

Re: Horn Detailing
Craig, I'll try to get to the storage unit for a better photo next week. We're in the middle of a blizzard here. I went back through all the posts here and noticed a trend. As previously noted and presented here, it's pretty obvious that the three-digit numerical stampings indicate the date of the ...

Re: Horn Detailing
Would someone kindly tell me which trumpet has the top position when installed on the car? Thanks. john John, My experience says longer on on top, if mounted to left inner fenderwell. Maybe short on top if mounted to right inner fenderwell, but i reserve the right to change my mind based on real ev...

Re: Horn Detailing
another Serie 2000 compressor photo I find from a known all original application, one owner since new, not restored. Appears to me to be 1M ........ 1 for 1971? alpha for? Unpainted machine screws, flat black paint and nice oil cap add to authenticity. This beautiful, original Espada was at Quail 20...

I finally got to the storage unit. Here is the photo of the compressor top on the 69 365 GT 2+2 to go with the horn tops I posted.
