This is the third car I've seen like this. One of them, I know was modified after it left the factory. To the best of my knowledge, they were all done later, but then again, Ferrari would do almost anything a customer wanted. I could easily see a GTE with front end damage being returned to the facto...

Hi Alberto,

This forum would NEVER hold it against you for liking a 330GT 2+2, that's because many of us here own a 2+2. Those who pooh -pooh the 2+2s obviously never owned one.

I cringe whenever anyone sits on ANY car! I'll sit on my lowly Toyota, but even then, I'll only sit on the structurally stiff pieces. Having removed dents from cars, I know how much damage a butt can do! People just don't know! Sorry to hear about your confrontation. Luckliy you survived it without ...

Having been in a fire, I would probably get a chemical extinguisher. http://www.tomyang.net/cars/story2.htm You have no idea how desperate a sound it is to hear a Halon extinguisher make this noise: SHHHHHHHHshhhhhhhssssssss..sss....s...s..h... ...all the while the flames continue to rise. I know ch...

Jim's onto a good point. Hypoid gears work differently than regular spiral cut gears. From I research, hypoid gears do not intesect the crown gear in the middle (think of the crown gear as an "O") kind of like this: O- , but instead mesh with the crown gear lower down like this: O_ This offset give ...

Hi Fest, I would worry more about the oil filter bursting before the oil cooler. I've seen this happen on three cars when starting in the winter. A no-name filter split at the case, and a Fram and a Bladwin sprayed oil out from the seal when the gasket failed. These filters are supposed to withstand...

Hi Michael, Look at this link: http://www.tomyang.net/cars/ferrari.html?gearoil.htm It's in the "tips" section of my website in under "lubrication." There are a lot of opinions on the 250 wt. oil. Most people put 80-90 without problems. Some people feel that the 250 wt. was for high speed driving, a...

Hi Yale,

I think "Fest" wants to use the hose for vaccum lines, so there would be no presence of brake fluid...I hope.

Call me crazy, but $69,000 doesn't sound that bad if the car is a "need nothing" car. That's a big "IF" to see if the car actually needs nothing, but you certainly cannot buy and restore a car for that kind of money. If someone offered me a completed 330 America for $70K four years ago, I would have...

Hi Jon,

I love the way they say ONLY 87,000 original miles! That's well past due for a rebuild with the old technology rings and valve guides!

Working on our own cars deinitely puts us in a minority, but it's the ones before us who give us a bad name. There are a lot of hacks out there fixing all types of cars as well as Ferraris, and everyone assumes we're one of them when we work on our own cars. Professionals are also protective of thei...
