Re: 330 GTC trunk lid painted areas

Ed, You may also want to check for photos in the owners manual. Not sure about the GTC, but the 330 GT manual includes a picture of light-colored car with an open trunk, so you might be able to see the color contrast between body color and black if there is a photo.

Re: 330 GTC Cooling/Fans

I had a similar problem with the car running cool on the road and hot at idle even though the fans were working well. It turned out that there was an open section in the shrouding that seals the fan to the radiator, so the air the fan was pulling was actually going around the radiator rather than th...

Re: fender vents

As much as I am an originality freak, I love the look of series 1 cars with series 2 side vents.

Did you notice that your car is one of seven in NJ?
Not initially, until I reread your post and saw that you could drill down by country. It's a great tool. Now of course I'm wondering how many S1's versus S2's in NJ.

Re: Courtesy lights on a GTC

I tried LED festoons (from superbrightleds.com) as an experiment and didn't like them. The were a bit more directional, though you can rotate them in the contacts to correct that, but the light was just too brilliant a white to look correct. They might be useful if somebody offers them in a more vin...

Even when new, the jack doesn't look all that stable to me (photo from 330 owner's manual):

Re: scissor jack for 330GT

The original jack for the 330's is more of a "single post" jack than scissors. The arm on the jack inserts into the 2 jack holes in the rocker panel on each side. It's possible to buy Alfa jacks that are similar to the Ferrari jacks, but often the arm that inserts into the hole is different (usually...

Re: 330 GT 2+2 expansion tank location

What year/SN is your car? Kerry has photos of the mounting points for early and late cars on his website: Early: http://www.330gt.com/Encyclopedia/Images/EarlyOverflowTank.jpg Late: http://www.330gt.com/Encyclopedia/Images/Overflow%20Tank.jpg It's easy to see where the tank sits in the "late" photo,...

Re: Fender covers

I also have the covers below. Sadly, they are only compatible with Bertone-bodied Ferraris: http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l172/peterp_bucket/P8080116.jpg http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l172/peterp_bucket/P8080117.jpg http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l172/peterp_bucket/P8080119.jpg

Re: Fender covers

There is a rumor (started by me with this post) that using aftermarket fender covers can cause severe engine damage! I found the fender covers below on eBay a long time ago and love them. They have a very soft flannel backing with embedded magnets to hold the covers in place. The listing said they w...

Re: 330 GT Fog light question

Did my car come with fog lights from the factory or were they added? I dont know that I have seen a late SII with fog lights- so If I decided to put them on, what type? If anyone has a pic, I would love to see my car has the carello headlights, so would these fogs be round? rectangular? marchal, ci...
