330 GT broken door latch-fabrication results
My drivers door handle from outside stopped working. .Found a pot metal piece broken pic#1. figured I was out of luck as likely a one off part that want going to be found off the shelf. .after freaking out , I looked at the part and decided I would make one out of 3 steel parts ( pic#2)-- flat bar, ...

Re: 365 GT 2+2 overheat fuse melt problem
fuse box rebuilt a decade ago and all was fine for last 10 years. I really think ground issues are paramount in these old cars, but am perplexed by the melted fuse plastic that didn't cause the metal part of the fuse to blow--- seems like a current problem causing heat, but it is was a 16A fuse in a...

Re: 365 GT 2+2 overheat fuse melt problem
Those are good points and that's exactly what I always do. You can see from my notes that everything has been checked systematically. I did think of one thing this morning which was that the Bolt holding the ground from the fans has both ground terminals attached to it. While the boat itself has a g...

365 GT 2+2 overheat fuse melt problem
Please advise. Friend asked me to help as his car was over heating and fans not turning on. Here are the diagnostics: 1) #4 fuse melted but still conductive. #4 drives the fans and is supposed to be a 50A fuse ( per the cover) but looked like it was a 16A red fuse 2) both fans work when externally p...

Re: Mechanical Fuel Pump Repair Questions
Thanks Tom and Kerry-
gas must have really sucked in 1967.
Screen filter on the intake tube.
then a fuel filter before the Electric pump.
then another set of screen filters in the pump inlet,
and then the paper filter in the regulator.
LOL -Do new cars even have fuel filters anymore?

Re: Mechanical Fuel Pump Repair Questions
agree.. just from a diagnostic standpoint.
thanks everyone- I know what to do next. I feel pretty good I can get this thing working.
Its not a huge deal but the moment my electronic pump fails, 60 miles from civilization on a rural mountain run in North Ga, I will be happy I did all this.

Re: Mechanical Fuel Pump Repair Questions
Dyke, Your plan was what I had planned next. made the most sense to me as I was trying to figure it out. I can tell I am making progress, and after reading of people pulling the pump 12 times before getting it right, this is what made the most sense to me. Since I have been in there twice, I know ex...

Re: Mechanical Fuel Pump Repair Questions
John and Tom thanks for responding. i read all the posts before doing the rebuild- I think tabs are installed correctly. But there is one confusing part from those posts- on my car, there is only ONE way the tabs can be installed. Bolt A ( or pin A as OEM) only fits in Hole A, and pin B only fits in...

Mechanical Fuel Pump Repair Questions
I decided to get my 330 GT mechanical working again so I rebuilt it, and found the diaphragm and valves all OK. While it clearly hadn't been rebuilt in decades, and someone had replaced the Pin that runs thru the body with a bolt and nut ( its the pin the hammer pivots on), the real issue wasn't the...

Re: 250 GTE 'Rumble' in drivetrain
this the kind of noise/sensation my 330 had- and it was a cheap repair- pulled the driveshaft, and had it balanced. the "feeling it in the seat", in my opinion, supports the driveshaft. I am not familiar with the 250 and its driveshaft (s) but pulling it on 330 was an easy job. Also, after I replace...
