Re: Using an IR gun + Lusso coolant question
The cylinder heads are obviously the most vulnerable parts. That said, the temp gauge reads from the water tubes in the back of the cylinder heads and the cooling fan is actuated by a sensor in the bottom tank of the radiator. I'd take reads from various spots and compare, but don't forget that the ...

Re: R&R Daytona Fuse Cover Label
Steve, if it is glued (as opposed to riveted) you might try heating it slightly and prying it away with a razor blade. Be careful to not overheat and cause damage to the box itself. I would try hot water first before resorting to a heat gun. Good luck.

Re: Vintage Style Battery Manufacturers
I have had one of these façade type batteries, as shown in your picture, for at least 9-10 years and it still works. Mind you, I drive my car about 2-3 times a year, so I need to slow charge it overnight every time. But, the next day it spins the engine with the same vigor as a new battery--it surpr...

Re: Need correct door hinge pins for my Lusso
Steve, for some crazy reason, the Lusso door opens to nearly a perpendicular position to the side of the car. It probably has to with Scaglietti's crappy build quality. You and your passenger need to be mindful of this when parked at a slope.

Re: Rust Repair
Thanks Cornelis. I really would like to see how you will manage the side windows, seeing the discrepancy between the roof of the coupe and the door openings of the cabriolet. It will be a challenge for sure. Keep me posted please.

Re: Rust Repair
Hi Cornelis, thanks for sharing the pictures. Do you intend to modify the sides of the cabriolet to look like a coupe? Coincidentally, I have seen a Series II coupe that was converted to a cabriolet.

Re: 330 GT Emergency Brake Pads
Hi Ed, is this the style you are talking about? I've seen this on late 50's, early 60's Jaguars.

Re: Restoration of Fiamm Roadmaster compressor
If the pin is an integral part of the casting you can only cut it off to free the plastic. You may be able to carefully heat the top and the plastic to see if you can slip it off without damaging it. Then after the top is painted, heat the casting without damaging the paint, then preheat the plastic...

Get a read read between the fuel pump terminal and the negative terminal of the battery, see if you still get 10 volts.

Hello Suzie, the Series II (outside plug motor) car's mirror is in Kerry's picture. The Series I (inside plug) car's mirror is like this.
