Re: Radiator Time
In general, black radiates heat faster than white. It also absorbs heat faster than white.
But if the black is hotter than its surroundings, it radiates faster than it absorbs, and so there is a net cooling effect.

Re: Chassis Grease Fitting
Are the early 60's cars supposed to have the 15mm hex head grease fittings? My Lusso has just a few of these and the rest are zerk. Where would you get these fittings? I searched, found some lookalikes, but not the real deal. Thanks. john Parker Hall has 'em. In his catalog, he states that "During ...

Every auto parts place has any Candy Whatever you could ever imagine.
Well, maybe Espanola has an even better selection.

Re: Rear Spring Bolt Torque Values?
http://www.boltsupply.com/catalogue_files/catalog_data/toc_data/pdf/019.pdf This has 10x1.25mm torque specs. The thread spacing on the 10mm bolts that attach the axial to the spring is a = 1.00 mm. So we must do some calculations from the table in Kerry's reference as follows. The reference gives T...

Re: Rear Spring Bolt Torque Values?
Hi Lowell, when I was assembling my rear suspension last winter I came across the the same question then my common sense prevailed (for once). Obviously the fasteners can't be too tight or the suspension system cannot do its job; i.e., pivot at joints. So I got my nuts/bolts tight enough where the ...

Rear Spring Bolt Torque Values?
I finally have put all new bushing it the radius arms, shackles, and spring eyes on the rear of my 330GT. The spring eyes had no evidence whatsoever of ever having any bushings in them. I always wondered why they took so much grease. Now I know: They contained vast empty spaces. The question now is ...

Re: Valve Cover Removal
Thank you for your recommendations, I did get the left cover loose only to discover the power steering pump bracket needs to be removed. I plan to get the pump removed and cover off tomorrow. I did see a previous post about the valve adjusters, and would it be recommended that I remove and inspect ...

Re: Need a 10 X 105 mm bolt
I should have explained more. The spring shackle has two bushings. A top bushing that is connected to the car frame and a lower bushing for the spring itself. The top bushing is attached to a stud welded to the frame of the car. It was this bushing that we had so much trouble removing, with the rubb...

Re: Need a 10 X 105 mm bolt
Hi Lowell, not following this large empty space. Why would there be an intentional space there, or are you referring to the void left as a result of the rubber pushing perishing? Thanks. john Not intentional at all. In my car, there was no remnant whatsoever of the the previous bushing that should ...

Re: Need a 10 X 105 mm bolt
Hi Lowell, I have a box of 10X1X90s I bought for my rear suspension when a couple of bolts broke. I guess your car needs longer bolts? I seem to remember needing to cut the threads a little longer on these bolts, but I can't remember exactly how I made these work. I bought them from "Metric and Mul...

Re: Need a 10 X 105 mm bolt
Try Maryland Metrics, they may not have it in stock but can probably find one for you. 410-358-3130, 800-638-1830, mdmetrics.com They did not have the bolts with fine threads, but they did have coarse thread bolts that had an unthreaded length larger than 105 so I can cut them off and rethread them...
