Re: 365GT 2+2 Brake rotor specifications?

Sorry that should be Roush and Apen, blame the aggressive spell check, it took typing it three times to stop it from trying to think for me.

Re: 365GT 2+2 Brake rotor specifications?

Here's what I have shown below. It's interestng that the second number given is not stated to be absolute minimum, rather it says "minimum after reconditioning" does this mean the actual wear limit is thinner? And what might that be? When I checked my rotors I just used the range given as max. and m...

Re: NOS Hirschmann antenna

You might get more interest on the Samba website as those red tip Hirschmans are coveted by the Porsche 356 guys.

Balancing type 32 wheels

I can't seem to find the adaptor needed to properly seat a Borrani/Campy wheel with type 32 splines on a modern tire balancing machine. Adaptors are available for British cars but I've only found 42 mm, which I assume they mean type 42. Type 32 are used on the GTC and 275 I can make the adaptor myse...

Re: Locking out the advance on Daytona distributor

Steve, since the throttle plates are not being moved and no extra air is getting in, it does indeed sound like a distributor advance problem. There may be some undo friction or bad springs, or things are just gunked up, so when things get warmed up you get inconsistencies. It could also be some othe...

Re: Locking out the advance on Daytona distributor

Steve does this mystery rise in RPM occur as the engine goes from a cold engine to warm? Will it re-set itself if you shut down and re-start?

Re: Tom-Update on electric fuel pump upgrade?

Running the new wire was easy. I ran it through the tunnel of course then through the an existing wire grommet. The great thing is the new switch, it is of course in the original position on the console and there is no confusion that when the switch is in the up position the modern pump is running. ...

Re: Tom-Update on electric fuel pump upgrade?

Here's my twist for a GTC, I added a modern pump in series with the old Fispa, then I ran a new wire to the new pump, then I installed a new 3 position toggle switch that when flipped down runs the original pump and when in the up position runs the new pump. I figure this reduces the electrical load...

Re: 1965 330 Series 1 Sun Visor repair

The later Porsche 356 and early 911/912 both use sun visors with heat sealed edges, and years ago the repair was to carefully cut on the seam and glue back after replacing frames and foam. This type of repair is no longer needed because there are vendors that supply new with the correct seam, so thi...

Re: Daytona Header Clean UP

Steve, I think I have used that Hirsch product on a Corvette too. Have you used it on Ferrari headers? they can get nearly red hot.

I removed everything you mentioned when I took the engine out. I won't be doing the install, but if I did I'd leave those items off.

Re: Daytona Header Clean UP

here's a pic of my engine almost done. Notice the exhaust pipe coating, It's baked on. I've seen it done in silver or grey, but I obviously like the black even though you can't see much from the top side due to the shields.

Re: Daytona Header Clean UP

Its not a difficult job, but it could be time consuming, of course it depends on the craftsman you choose and the condition of the welded boss. Was the boss welded on over a smaller hole or was it entirely welded through the pipe, this will make a difference with the approach and amount of work, the...

Re: 365 GT 2 + 2 restoration

It will probably be easier to find a used set, then you send them out for the recon. Look in Hemmings or FCA, or FML there always seems to be someone advertising used parts.
