FIAAM horn source

Anyone have a reasonably priced source for obtaining an FIAAM air horn compressor? I have the phone number to the company, and will call them on Monday. In the meantime, any ideas for a vendor? thanx s

I just pulled the radiator out of my 330 GTC. It will be the third time in 2 years that the top tank has required a repair to it's incessant, tho' miniscule, leak. Twice now, Terry Myr in Michigan has recored this thing and I wonder what I should do now. I spoke with a custom radiator shop who said ...

330 GTC Campy wheels

I' m in the midst of refinishing my wheels and noted from some pictures that a friend took of another 330, that there appears to be a polished shiny plate (about 4" in diameter) between the wheel and the knockoff spinner. Is this correct, or is my vision as bad as I think? thanx steve meltzer "never...

OK, I spoke with Bob Smith, well-known resto guy, who confirmed that these wheels develop pits as a natural consequence of their metallurgy and the way they were originally cast. Think I'll repaint them myself, at least for the moment, as it's not a concours car. Does anyone know if the original bas...

Let me move this discussion toward the wheels. Specifically, is this pitting normal and if not, how does one fix it, and if it is, do they deduct for it in judging? (not that I aspire to this) thanx s

refinishing mag wheels

I think that I may have posted this before, but couldn't readily find it. The slotted mags on my GTC have a number of small pits, which I wanted to get rid of. However, the guy at Valley Wire Wheel (he's done wheels on Pebble Beach winners) said these small pits are the normal "patina" of this porou...

It's been about 6 weeks since I posted this question. At that time, I cleaned up the seam between the cover and the head using some lacquer thinner and a wire brush. Then I applied a small amount of Permatex "The Right Stuff" in the seam. You can barely see it at all. It's been dry now for all of th...

Tom, thanx. Given my 14" wheels, I'd better stick close to what I have. I was thinking that a 60 series tire might be too low in profile; tho' improved "footprint", it might look weird. s

Refinishing Ferrari wheels

Well, maybe i'd better not put the cart before the proverbial horse. So before I get the tires, I think I'll refinish my "slotted" wheels. They're not bent, but the finish is pitted and of course, there are a few nicks from wayward hammers. I called one local place who said that the pits can't be re...

I'll post the list when I finally get them. I'll probably go for a touring tire, tho' the Summari's (or whatever they're called) look great on paper and in the reviews. My track days are over, so this car won't see any of that kind of driving. I'm just looking for good street performance. thanx ever...
