Re: FACET FUEL PUMP 476087

On my early 330 GT the electric pump supplies a second filter/regulator on the firewall.

Re: FACET FUEL PUMP 476087

Greetings... Somewhere in the back of my head, over on the left side I think, is a recollection that Ferrari went to Bendix pumps either in the late 330's or the 365. Bendix is now Facet and that round pump is essentially what was used then. I believe Parker had a sticker for the Bendix pump. I woul...

Re: Please let us know when the Alfa is safely through customs

G'day (been in contact with the Aussies) The horror stories are true. Asbestos seems to be the main concern. Even if you have paperwork from a reputable shop (you are reputable , aren't you) they may decide to remove a brake shoe, punch a hole in the lining and test it. If it passes, you get the sho...

I've not dealt with them but have heard good things. I was going to have mine redone but I found a pair of NOS

Re: Ignition system

Greetings... OK Tom, maybe I was a little overly sarcastic but you know the originality police are out there. As I've said before, my least favorite word when dealing with my cars, be it Ferrari, Morgan, or Turner, is "Correct". I agree with you about things that may improve performance or reliabili...

Re: Ignition system

Greetings... I see you decided to stay with the Marelli coils. Any particular reason? Also, the white GTE Tom has been working on has Bosch blue coils. Oh the shame. The value of the car has been cut in half. This car should never be allowed on the show field. How could someone commit such a travest...

Re: Ignition system

Greetings... Should be about 1.5 ohms and the resistor should be about 1.5 ohms as well. The Bosch Blue coil is about 3 ohms which is why you don't use and external resistor. The Kettering ignition system, which is what our cars have, like about 3 ohms resistance. This keeps the coils from overheati...

Re: Ignition system

Greetings... I tried the Bosch resistor terminals and the car never ran well. I changed to some Rajah Hotrod terminals and problem over. The Bosch Blue coils are the smaller diameter than the Marelli ones by about 1/8 inch (you metric guys can figure that out for yourselves). I have searched for a g...

Re: 365 GT 2 + 2 restoration

Greetings... For a conventional ignition, check the resistance across the oils and ballot resistors. It should measure about 3 ohms. If you disconnect the resistor (the square burgundy thingy) from the coil both should measure about 1.5 ohms. Lower resistance will allow more current flow which will ...
