Re: Fuzzy Strip

Hi John: Have you checked an "old established" auto glass shop? Several years ago I bought a couple of lengths with a stainless edging from a local shop.

Re: Removiing Rocker Arm Shafts

Thanks, John. I will pick up an arbor press and find some more room in my crowded shop.

Re: Removiing Rocker Arm Shafts

Is there some sort of jig to aid in the pressing operation? How much pressure is needed? Thanks. Bob

Removiing Rocker Arm Shafts

I have been researching information on removing the rocker arm shafts from the aluminium stands. I imagine it involves heating the assembly to about 450 degrees and persuading the shaft out. Then reassembly probably involves heating the stand and chilling the shaft while managing to align the shaft ...

6 into 1 Headers

Many years ago when I bought my GTE in a non-running condition, the headers appeared to be in excellent condition, but the flanges do not align with the studs in the heads without a lot of "persuasion" and then they tend to leak because the individual flanges are not all in the same plane. Does anyo...

Re: oil slingers

It seems to be too close to the center line to make much of a difference in regards to inertia. When they machine the crank, do they just machine off the slinger grooves or remove the whole part and machine the crank a little for a seal surface?

Re: Cleaning a Ferrari V12 engine

I have found that the narrow coffee stirring sticks are great for digging into grease which has collected in corners and crevices. they are relatively soft and have round ends, so they do not damage the paint. A pack of 250 is about $3, or you can save the ones you have used for stirring and re-purp...

Re: 330GT brake fluid reservoir loss

According to my last communication with Ron, he sold the rebuilding portion of the business and now has a sleeving business located down the street and he does all the work himself, therefore no employees to make mistakes. That was probably 8 months ago. Bob Arthur #2693

Re: Radiator Overflow Hose

GTE #2693 has a rigid metal tube soldered to the neck and goes across the tank and terminates open at the bottom tank.

Re: bleeding brakes

My question was "What is the purpose of the small hole"? It must have something to do with air pressure, but since the shaft at the end of the cylinder is not really air tight, I wonder that the hole is for. I have found that usually there are not machining features put in parts without there being ...

Re: bleeding brakes

Can someone please advise me of the purpose of the small hole (Which I cannot find) in the booster cylinder. The only purpose I can think of would to allow air to bleed out, but that should be accomplished by the clearance between the rod on the end of the piston and the casting. Bob A
