Incidentally, the steel used in the 60's and 50's cars is really very thin. If you stand by the door and tilt your head and look at the tops of the front fenders you may see numerous dimple-like inflections from where you yourself or an inexperienced mechanic has leaned on the car with their elbows ...

Alameda (CA) lItalian Car & Motorcycle Gathering, Octobe

This is a very pleasantly low-key and friendly event, and it is for a worthy cause. Drop in with your Ferrari or anything else Italian and enjoy the afternoon.

For details contact pharding@alamedanet.net or (510) 521-1453

Seems CI’s future will have less and less vintage car participants and discerning spectators. It is going to turn into a cheesy festival that is inline with their fashion shows and opera singers. It will become the place where a pink Pantera with dragster wheels will compete with an iridescent purpl...

Tom,

I am 6'4" and I fit fine in my 1959 250 GT PF. I have at least 2-3 inches to spare and the seat stuffing is pretty fresh and not compressed. I can imagine the 1960's cars being at least that roomy if not roomier.

I am not sure about the story behind the Alaska plates. It may be a tax dodge. I have seen a few Californian vintage Ferraris with non-California plates.

A restored car came along and I decided to get the restored car instead. 0943GT was an original car in original condition. The restored car was like brand new.

Luke,

If you ever come around Walnut Creek stop by and look at the screen on the Lusso. It is original and I am sure it is the same item that is on the GTE.

SLM,

Regardless of the fact that the mechanical pump was rebuilt, I personnaly would start by checking the mechanical fuel pump. It is possible that the two actuating plunger levers are broken.

If you really beleive that it might be vapor lock try driving the car after it has cooled off.

Tom, Just how many people can we fit in a motel room? We could meet in the lobby of the Double Tree Hotel in downtown Monterey and then go to the hotel's cocktail lounge for drinks. This way we can take a sneak peak at the RM Auction displays in the ground level of the hotel. Viewing has been free o...
