Re: Knob Paint Removal
I don't know if the knobs are bakelite, or if the comments in this link are accurate, but there seems to be some potentially useful info here -> http://www.antiqueradios.com/forums/vie ... hp?t=87859

Re: Coil Red Paint
This eBay listing seems to be suggesting they are NOS coils. If so, the photos seem to be a pretty good reference for coil color:

Re: Hood spring missing
Hello all , I noticed that the metal tab spring that is mounted to the inside rear corners of my hood on my 1964 330gt is missing on both my cars . I have searched for a good picture of one on the net but that corner is always cut off in any pictures of these cars . I think they can be replicated i...

Re: Kerry's restoration website
Kerry -- I've said it many times, but it can't be said often enough: thank you very much for your awesome website. It's a huge asset to owners and to preservation of the cars and Ferrari history.

Re: Gauge lighting
Thanks Kerry. It's interesting that the low fuel warning light has reverse polarity from the others. Regarding dimability, all of the instrument LED's I looked at seem to have that same operational voltage range and it seems like dimming worked ok in at least a few user reviews. Agree that the only ...

Re: Gauge lighting
I just bought 1LED bulb to test, and I can confirm that the one on the link above will not fit into gauge. Sorry to hear that. Is the problem that bulb is too long? The measurements suggest that the diameter is ok (at least compared with a generic incandescent 363 bulb), but the LED bulb is slightl...

Re: Fixing holes in the glove box door
Here's some photos of the dirty deed, to add insult you can see staining and lack of natural fading from the brass shield. I tried to blend the discoloration with some light abrasive and that's when I perceived that it had some type of finish rather than raw wood. the back side of the door definite...

Re: Fixing holes in the glove box door
Worst comes to worst, you could replace it or cover holes with something more subtle. Of course, it will set you back $5

Re: Gauge lighting
I doubt that you will find a LED bulb that will fit into the gauges. I bought some LED bulbs for the side marker lights that said that they would fit per the bulb number. When they came, the base was correct, but the bulb diameter was too large to fit into the receptacle. Since the gauge bulbs are ...

Re: Fixing holes in the glove box door
Hi peter, the finish on my dash definitely has some type of clear finish applied, I found out when I was experimenting with some very fine abrasive pad to blend some discoloration that was under the badge, it did not go well because the coating was coming off and not blending in. Of course I can't ...

Re: Fixing holes in the glove box door
I believe the teak from the factory is unfinished -- there is no clear coat or any other coating. It's just raw teak finished with teak oil. Watco teak oil (available at Home Depot) is excellent. You can treat the plugs with teak oil to get a feel for how well they will match the dash.
