Just remove the self leveling shock and replace it with the coilover. It will look the same as the remaining rear shock except that there is a coil spring and adjusting nuts to even the height in the rear.It is a simple swap.I think I got mine from Rutlands or GT Car P...

Kerry is right as to the originality of the valve in his photo. That is not the correct shade of blue. Mike

Hi Rob, It was quite some time ago when I spoke with Mike about the McQueen Lusso. While he was very nice on the phone as I remember he did not seem interested in giving out whatever code he might have had.He did emphasize that it was a distinct custom mix and that I should not be misled by how it ap...

Re: Tell me about the old days!
While I cant comment on the Ferrari world of the 60's etc, Tom's take on today is spot on as to folks fixing stuff. As I sneak up on 68yrs I note that I have been pulling wrenches both as pro and for "fun" for more than 50 yrs.At first it was to learn and also to be able to afford a car.It was just w...

Re: Glass Polishing
Hi John, I had some luck using watered down toothpaste and a random orbital sander on a vent window .That was a long time ago and being a dentist I am partial to toothpaste. It did remove a few very fine scratches and cloudiness. I do imagine that the kits available now would do better. Good luck,Mike

Re: What color to paint my Series 1 330GT
Hi Rob, I can tell you that Michael G's car looks great in it's Marrone. There are different shades as my C4 is also designated Marrone but of a different era ,1971 and much lighter.I have spoken with Mike Regalia the guy who did the resto on Steve McQueen's Lusso and he indicated that the color, whi...

Nice post Michael. It is great when it all works out and you can really enjoy those drives. But even when these cars are a PITA at times I find the ownership experience is still fun unto itself. Mike
