Re: 330 GTC emergency triangle
Be absolutely sure you need this item. To my knowledge, GTC's did not come with Triangles. As I recall, there is no Triangle pictured in the parts book, nor have I ever seen an original car with a Triangle. GTC's were built before the Triangle era.

Re: Plugs
Well, I appears that it is time to put another myth to bed. The old stories about certain 250 engines having the end of the spark plug hit the piston is just not true. If you have ever actually examined the combustion chamber of a 250/275/330 cylinder head, you will find that the spark plug electode...

Re: Plugs
B6ES. There is really no reason to run the colder "7" heat range unless you drive very hard. We race our LM on B7ES with no problems. You can use the more expensive varieties if you wish, but the standard plugs have always worked well for me. If you want to run the projected tips, use BP6ES.

Re: feedback on powder coating mag rims
Be very careful. I have been there and done that. REAL magnesium wheels will still corrode under the powdercoating and then it is very difficult to remove the powdercoating to redo the wheel. By its very nature, magnesium is constantly corroding and at least with paint, you can always start all over...

Re: Progress on Brakes
As to Synthetic vs. Silicone fluid. I have had excellent luck with Valvoline SYNTHETIC brake fluid and use it in all my non-silicone projects. I believe that Dow Corning used to be and stll may be the only supplier of SILICONE brake fluid, though I buy it under the Carquest brand.

Re: Progress on Brakes
i am sure there will be lots of EXPERTS who disagree with me, but I have used silicone fluid in non-ABS Ferraris since 1977 with zero problems. I do not take the sustem apart, just drain out the old fluid and put in the silicone. I then bleed a fair amount of silicone through to flush as much of the...

Re: 275GTB brake help
Tom: The original 275 Master Cyliinders are some of the most difficult masters to get right that I have ever worked on. They are not easy to take apart or put together. Also the current seals are usually of a slightly different thickness, causiing the compensation port to be sometimes not uncovered ...

Re: Hose Clamps for 330 GTC
I am suprised that many others did not repond to this. Yes, 330 GTC's use Cheney clamps in many locations. The easiest guide is that Cheney's were used on all connections that had to be loosened to remove the engine. Hose connections that did not need to be opened up when removing the engine used Co...

Re: Tach cable
Tom: Are you talking about the WHOLE cable including the sheath? I have never seen an original factory inner cable that did not have a fitting on the instrument end that prevented the inner cable from being pulled through to the engine or gearbox. Obviously, you can remove the entire cable assembly ...

Re: Tach cable
Both the tach and speedo cables can only be removed from the instrument end. Clean the cable and lube with standard grese gun grease sparingly. Do not get a large amount of grease at the instrument end as it can work its way into the instrument and get on the magnetic wheel.

Re: Progress on Brakes
The device of which you speak is a hydralic pressure booster, not an equalizer. It functions like the vacuum booster to provide higher line pressures to the front brakes. it does not equalize anything. This is one of the most misunderstood parts on Ferrairs of this era. Over the years, many cars hav...

Re: 365 GTC brake calipers
They are ATE calipers, but off hand I do not know of what common vehicles also used them.I am pretty sure they are not dual feed like a Daytona. Sorry, best that I can do for now. Call Bill Young at GT Car Parts in Phoenix.

Re: Oil Filler Caps on the top of the motor
Personally, I do not recall ever having seen a 275 with machined caps. It may well boil down to the possibility that the polishing equipment was broken or down for maintenance from time to time, so some caps were produced without the light polish. We tend to forget that Ferrari was just a normal fac...

Re: Thermostat
You can LIMIT the fuel pressure by adjusting the screw on the glass bowl fuel filter, but you cannot raise it above what the pump will put out. To raise the fuel pressure and output of the pump itself, reduce the thickness of the phonelic insulator block between the pump and the chaincase. As the pu...

Re: Thermostat
I live in Illinois, and drive Ferrari's down to about 30 degrees F. If your car will not run faster than 100 mph without using the electric fuel pump, you need to repair the mechanical pump. Any Ferrari from the pre-Daytona/365GTC era should run fine up to redline on the mechanical pump only. Runnin...
