Re: Luggage straps on 2+2 - original option?
Speaking of kids - I remember when I turned up at our FCA Fall Rally with my 1 year old in a child seat that I installed. Members were joking that I should write a Tech Tip for the Northern Prancer. Some were horrified that I would drill a hole through the rear window shelf. Easy to install actually...

Re: 250 seat/ball bearings
I ended up McGyvering the unobtanium rubber bit in the middle by using multible strands of elastic bands impregnated with rubber silicone - works great!

Re: Luggage straps on 2+2 - original option?
The luggage shelf option I have seen on 2 other GTEs - this is mine. Folds away and stores in trunk. Sits easily on the centre and side armrests.

GTEs - How many had power windows?
I have a Series 1 GTE with original power windows. How rare was this option? Were there Ferraris before the GTE with power windows? Maybe Super America, Superfast or special coachbuilt 250s?

Nice mirrors, but I didn't think Ferraris were delivered from the factory with side mirrors till the late 60s - Daytona?

Re: Ribbed gearbox
Many thanks! Fun fact...
Your magnesium was produced from a process which was named after my grandfather Dr. Lloyd Pidgeon in 1940 (The Pidgeon Process).
He loved cars and drove our 250 when he was in his 80s.

Ribbed gearbox
Can someone post a pic of a 250 ribbed gearbox? - I've never seen one.

This pic gives you a better idea - looks like black in the shade. Dark chocolate?

Re: What color to paint my Series 1 330GT
Marrone is a great colour for GTEs and 330s. I had no reservations going back to it from silver. Goes great with my saddle interior. Sorry the pic does not show it's true darker shade - mine is single stage non-metallic. I remember Cavallino #57 stating that for a 330 GT 2+2 brown was the 2nd best c...

How do you drive your 250 during break-in ?
Very excited here as #2831 is going to have the engine back in properly rebuilt and bench-tested after an almost 10 year hiatus. I would like some feedback from other 250 owners as to how best to run-in my motor. I know that lugging is bad. Our motors develop peak power at 7000rpm - good to go this ...

Re: GTE Motor Mounts help
Thanks everyone for the advice.
BTW we ran the engine today on the dyno - no issues. Tomorrow, we'll have some more bench time to finalize timing and carbs before we check for power run. When do you suggest head retorque? I've heard well before the 1000km mark.
