Re: 330 GT headlamp/rings and gasket - series II
Hi Ed, This is just my opinion, so take it on face value. I can't speak for the judges of the FCA and what they're ruling. I feel there should be a gasket between the chrome ring and the body work like your version 2. These cars are pininfarina built cars, and probably are the same for GTC, GTS, and...

Re: Ferrari 330GT, long unpainted weld
This is the back side of the inner fender looking up inside the wheel well. I saw that area too when I shined a light up under there and applied some primer and undercoating to the untreated steel. A lot of the "unseen" welds like these were pretty rough on these old Ferraris!

Re: 330 GT/GTC/GTS Headlamp rings
Hi Ed, I know that GTC/GTS headlight rings are slightly larger than the 330GT 2+2s, so be careful which ones are being reproduced. The 2+2 rings will fit the GTC/GTS, but they will not fill the whole headlight opening flush with the body work. I have seen a lot of GTCs with 330GT 2+2 headlight rings...

Re: Well, we need a first post of 2024….
Hi Kevin, Happy New Year and thanks for sharing the story. It makes me happy to hear about connections we all make throughout the world because of the ownership of these cars, and the Internet that has brought us all together. Some people here have been around this stuff before e-mails, websites, an...

Re: Fuse board junction/terminal/connector
Jimmyr - I’m going to replace one that melted. Top picture in this thread shows what needs replacing. Luckily the connection still works fine, but I want to replace it with a new terminal block. And thanks to Michael, I’ll be able to replace it with a terminal strip/block that should be a perfect m...

Re: Weber DCZ6 accelerator pumps
I just had a 365GTC/4 come into my shop that wasn't starting. The fuel flow was fine, but what I eventually found out was almost all the needles at the inlet floats were stuck in the closed position. No fuel was being allowed into bowls at all. The combination of ethanol fuel, and what I believe was...

Re: Chrome plating
It's always a collaboration between me and the platers when replating parts. He does a good job about wrapping the threads, but we have to make sure they're wrapped even before the stripping when it comes to the threads. I've also had too much plating put on the locks where they won't slide back tog...

Make sure they're stainless. I thought they use brass sleeves...michaelbalk330 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 07, 2023 7:55 pm Also
Apparently Apple Hydraulics can rebuild them ( one stop shopping) too but I need to find out about their CAD plating..

Re: 330GT SII dunlop caliper rebuild or replace
Hi Michael, I've seen billet Stainless steel pistons used in place of the original dunlop pistons, and I would imagine they work the same as the original design with the lucas seals. The billet stainless pieces shouldn't corrode and will only need new seals if there is a problem. That being said, if...

Re: Ptoblems with seals for front and rear screens
Hi Martin, Everything changes through the years. If you had the chrome trim replated, there is always a chance that it can change in shape slightly through the polishing process. I think the Cicognani are extrusions, but the dies can change over time. The window opening can also affect the fit. Kerr...

Any metal polishing company can polish the rims, or you can do them yourself! Wear gloves and a mask!

I would agree with GT Car Parts in AZ, but that's only if he returns your calls! Bill, just like Geof at Partsource are one man or two men operations so they prioritize calls. T Rutlands has a few more people on staff, but not all of them are physically in the facility in Monterey or Wisconsin. You ...

Re: Rear axle drop stop
Kerry had the luxury of working on a SII 330 that has less leafs in the spring because his car has the additional coil springs to support the vehicle. Earlier cars like SI 250GTEs and early 250s have many more leafs for the rear spring putting a lot of tension on the shackle. I don't think it could ...
