Re: Steering knuckle
Cornelis, you gave me the right hint for king pin disassembly!!! Thanks a lot. I gave strong preload by the screw. With very very heavy hits with a lead hammer I finally was sucsessful without any damage. Bearing seperator is not useful as there is no 360° access. There are always forged attatchment...

Re: Steering knuckle
Kerry, now its clearer for me. I am only in fear to damage the ring at the section point. It is not very solid. But I will try with a combination of both suggested method. Using the bearing seperator to give some preload. Filling the gap on top with the nut and a pieve of steel between king pin end ...

Re: Steering knuckle
Hi Mike,
I do not know exactly which tool you mean with "bearing seperator". Do you mean the fork type wedged tool to seperate the ball joints of steering linkag?

Re: Steering knuckle
Cornelis, there was some misunderstanding. I did not mean the centerbore of king pin I meant the detail in the pic below (from John). King pin detail.jpg King pin detail.jpg For your discussion of "Seegerring"- removal. (Do not know the english term). Here is the right tool. For removal you need som...

Re: Steering knuckle
John, thanks for your reply. Your pic is good enough to see the structure. I will try this way carefully (in fear to bend the rubber bump attatchment) I wonder about the purpose of the small hole ending at the cone. For greasing the cone fit it makes no sense. It must be an annulus for the grease ni...

Steering knuckle
Dear all, I try to disassemble my steering knuckles because there is to much clearence. But there is no direct access to press the pivot out because of the nose piece for the rubber damper. I do not want to use raw forces or burner heat in fear of damaging something. I assume it is a cone fit. Any h...

Re: koni rebuilding
Yesterday I received my rubber bellows. So I started to assemble my rear shocks. The larger diameter fits well, the small dia at the rod was a bit to large. So I glued the rubber to the rod and used a cable strap to tighten See below pics showing the shock in both end positions. I had to punch a few...

Re: koni rebuilding
John, your picture was valuable, because I could see the bellows do not need to go down the full length. I spent again a few hours on internet research about rubber bellows. I could find a catalogue from a supplier here in europe (no webshop). It looks like he has one model likely to fit. I will ord...

Re: koni rebuilding
Hello John, I just received the message that PR Products can not manufacture them any more. Here the reason as a copy from my enquiry-email: "I am so sorry. Due to the product I use of having cancer causing products while being made the state of California has deemed it wrong that I have those shipp...

Re: 330GT 2+2 Bodyshell Rebuild
Darren, I admire you to tackle this big task to complete this 330. When reading your post I also was interested to measure at my car #8741 330 Series2 the differences from left to right. Here my results: Front left 42,8 - Front right 43,6 Rear left 22,7 - Rear right 23,3 all measures in mm My car is...

Re: Front Suspension GT330
Lowell and Cornelis also Tom, thanks for your valuable hints. This forum is the best I ever met. Nearly no personal talks and arguing. The base is the tecnical side of our cars. Without this forum I would miss so much information. Here in Germany 330 owners are rare like hens theeth. So I can not dr...

Re: koni rebuilding
Hi folks, as there is already a thread I continue. For my GT330 rear shocks I desperately search for the rubber boots Ferrari #600507. Since more than one year I tried already Rutlands, McCann, Eurospares and others. Some have them on their website to order, but wer´nt able to supply, some of them e...

Front Suspension GT330
Dear all, After overhaul of the whole rear suspension today I turned to the front. After removal or the lever arms of top wishbone assembly I found wear of pivot and bushes. The pivot lost 0,15mm in diameter. I noticed that all the 4 upper bushes were made of some plastic material. So I wonder about...

Heat exchangers
Dear all, beside transmission overhaul I turned to my disassembled heat exchangers of the heating system. Hard to get them off undamaged out of the rotten sheet metal surrounding box. I put my boxes back into proper condition. Before installing the heat exchangers I thought it is wise to do a leakag...
