here is the tube stem sticking out of the Borrani rim. This system fits this rubber tube stem perfectly.
note recess around stem hole.

Re: Inner tube hardware - cones, nuts, and caps
I now have 5 Borrani wheels (RW3831) from a 1966 Lamborghini 350GT and have found the following stem protector. The Borrani wheel appears to have a recess to fit this protector in place. Beadblasted the steel cone, cell phone photo. brass knurled nut shows more bevel on this side. steel cone basic d...

Inner tube hardware - cones, nuts, and caps
I am requesting some information on the use of this hardware. Actually some written period documentation, in Italian or English, dated 1950 thru 1968. Use of this hardware was common practice in that era to provide either protection or dress up for Borrani, Campagnolo, or other type rims. I realize ...

Re: B.O.M. ashtrays, light fixtures
Is it possible that BOM is related to Italian company Bomisa of Milano?
It appears they do stampings, work with brass, plating with chrome and their clientele includes Ferrari, Alfa, etc.
Maybe?

Re: B.O.M. ashtrays, light fixtures
I think i used to know what company this actually was, but for national security reasons it could not be shared. Anyway, hopefully some of you with Italian resources can achieve the goal of understanding something that would have been common knowledge 50 years ago. Just a translation of the acronym ...

B.O.M. ashtrays, light fixtures
I am requesting help with understanding the B.O.M. stamped into period ash trays and light fixtures.
BOM would seem to stand for a company name.
Italian for brass is ottone - maybe the O. ?
Any help please? Thank you
Craig

Re: Little Rubber Booties
Hi Tim, I have seen OEM installations with rubber bootie remnants on all terminals having to do with Marelli. Distributors and coils are frequent areas of troubleshooting. My thought is the booties are simply wiped away and not replaced. The Marelli booties do not fit the wires, so they appear to be...

Re: Talbot, Raydyot mirrors for Ferrari
Can anyone provide details about a common mirror (pictured below) found on many Ferrari? This mirror appears to be sold by Alfa dealers, then and now, as well. Who manufacured this mirror? part number, model name?

Re: Talbot, Raydyot mirrors for Ferrari
If you think a Talbot is useless, then wait till you try a Vitaloni Sebring.....hard core "looking good"! These have got to be worth their weight in plastic. I love 'em. They look cool. I dont have Vitaloni catalogs from 60's. I think the Vitaloni Sebring was the first model, and then the Vitaloni S...

Re: Talbot, Raydyot mirrors for Ferrari
I could be competely incorrect, however my understanding is the Ferraris in the fifties and sixties did not come with side rear view mirrors, they were added here due to DOT laws. The mirror shown on the 365 California Spider appears to be a Lucas style mirror available through any of the dozens of...

Re: Horn Detailing
So above pictures show that the horn bracket is date stamped the same as the compressor, black wrinkle for the horn bases. All of the rest seem to match what is in this thread. It seems like the brass or copper thread is welded onto the horn metal, whatever it is. I am particularly interested in in...

Re: Talbot, Raydyot mirrors for Ferrari
1968 publication showing a stem mount type mirror. So who makes this mirror? What is it?
Yes, it looks like a generic sedan type mirror you would find on a Lancia. I think i see i lot of these in service.
Cheers

Talbot, Raydyot mirrors for Ferrari
What are the correct external mirrors for 250, 275, 330, 365 street model Ferrari? Talbot? Raydyot? What period documentation is available for review to confirm the most common applications? Any documentation to discuss the 1960's Talbot mirror models? 300, 311, 333, 366? Green dot, Berlin, silver d...

Re: Horn Detailing
Gang:Let's play an old favorite again.I bought a set of Fiamm horns from Tom S. a while back, who knows what car it came from. The date code on the compressor is 705, which according to this thread of knowledge means 1967, May. All things on this set of horns matches what is described and documente...
