Re: Daytona Driveability Problem
Thank you for the vote of confidence Mr. R., Most of the 10 or so Daytonas I've driven, tested or worked on over the years have been U.S.-spec. examples and I do recall couple of similar instances in the past. I'll have to revisit my notes, but if I remember correctly, one of them I was able to solv...

Re: Drivetrain Whine
Has this been discussed with the person/shop who performed running gear restoration ? IMO, as proprietor of restoration shop, I'd always recommend requesting (or allowing ?) the people who were in charge to begin with to look into it first since they should have most intimate knowledge what was done...

Re: 250GTE Rear Springs and Shocks
Timo: You will find this amusing, but the "manual" you asked me to look at on the web was produced mainly by my friend Jim Riff, with some additions by MYSELF. Jim did the initial work in the early 1970s, and then we collaborated together with supplemental articles for the Ferrari Market Letter. La...

Re: 250GTE Rear Springs and Shocks
Thank you Mr. R. and C., for your replies, but I was merely trying to describe to Zanny1 a way to determine if his GTE front (or rear) suspension is at proper level and importance of it, since I believe this (or both) should be established as "baseline" before any attempts to adjust or modify anythi...

Re: 250GTE Rear Springs and Shocks
Greetings… I wouldn't use any measurement to the body, especially the wheel arches. As we have seen before, they can be all over the park. I would measure from the ground (generally a reliable reference) up to a suspension bolt on the chassis like the front trailing arm bolt. If they are off side t...

Re: Update: fuel delivery problem, 250 GTE
Valves went back in the way they came out. I was not aware that there is an orientation of the valves. Can you explain? Have considered bypassing the mech pump altogether. Any thoughts on running it dry all the time? Having never serviced an exact pump in question, but with plenty of experience on ...

Did the "problem" appear over night, gradually over long period or has it "always" been there ?

Yes, but buy some replacement ferrules also as the originals may not fit the new hose O.D. (= larger)Zanny1 wrote:..... can I remove the old fittings and re-use them?

Thank you.DWR46 wrote:Timo,Tim: DO NOT RELY ON KONI'S INFORMATION. IT IS NOT CORRECT. The correct shock for ALL 275's is Front 1349 and rear 1350. The 1451 and 1452 shocks fit a larger OD/ID spring and the valving is different. What I said earlier is correct.

Re: KONI 82N-1451
According to an old FAF catalog, fit 330/365 GTC/GTS fronts, not listed for any other models. The price back then was $85. I just received info from an 1984 FAF catalog listing these as "82P1451"(?). Any technical difference between "N" and "P" or is it a possible misinterpretation/misprint ? Same ...
