Re: Preproduction 0891GT versus S1 PF coupe

This thread is just wonderful! Thank you for taking the time to post.
What are Tribeti lights? I would like to learn more about this.
I really like the period photos.

Re: Coils

Can someone refresh my memory on the primary(secondary?) coil resistance needed by vintage and more modern pointfree ignitions. We all have the carefully selected Marelli 1.5 ohm resistors mounted on the Marelli coils for what purpose? i forget. Can i leave these off of a new "hot" coil, if i instal...

Re: Pertronix kit to replace points in S85

Yes, i think we have gotten off track here, but it is enjoyable to see you guys chatting at tomyang. Keep up the good work. Too late for me, i ordered a Pertronix kit to try out on a pair of S85, converting the kit to one Marelli (one advance) and slaving the other. Now my Pertronix question is the ...

Re: Pertronix kit to replace points in S85

I was able to retain them and make them work (at least for now ?). Timo Thanks Timo, Glad you were able to get the Daytona repaired and underway. Please keep us posted on your research with others, but it sounds like you are happy with the performance of Pertronix for the time being. Any chance of ...

Re: Pertronix kit to replace points in S85

Just within last few weeks I went though an extensive nightmare with a Pertronix conversion on the Daytona engine I did a full rebuild on. Car had already previously been converted to another brand of electronic ignition which had been working fairly well for years, but this Pertronix system was re...

Repair parts for S85 Marelli distributors

The biggest problem in maintaining a good running vintage Ferrari is keeping the ignition in good condition. Points are, for some reason, readily available, exact condensors not so available, rotor and caps very availalble in reproduction, wires no problem, but................ the swing weight advan...

Re: Pertronix kit to replace points in S85

Here is another Ferrari kit with red triggers, maybe this is Ignitor II? The question of "will two triggers fit and be timeable" is easily seen to be as easy as 2-3 years ago with VW kit triggers in an S129. I guess my only real questions are the details on the slaved S85. Where to lock the slaved S...

Re: Pertronix kit to replace points in S85

Thanks Cornelis and Tom, Who is running the current Pertronix kits , like an MR1122 in dual S85's? Has anyone put both triggers in one Marelli and slaved the other? I tested an S129 with home made Pertronix, 2 triggers in one, and it has worked fine for years. My dual Pertronix experience is this on...

Has anyone put both sensors in one S85 and slaved the other S85for spark distribution? Pictures and part numbers please of the Pertronx components? Pictures of any cus...

Re: Trebelhorn Lusso

The Yang event was great, thanks Tom and Richard! When was the last time you got to photo a Lusso with the door panels off? Trelbelhorn was more than gracious with allowing a full inspection.
