Re: refurbishment of Alu strips on rocker rails

Thank you very much for these hints, I think de-anodizing is an excellent idea and will try this. It‘s winter time anyhow and the snowy season is ideal to do refurbishments like this one...

Re: refurbishment of Alu strips on rocker rails

Hello Tom, do you sand blast them softly and sand them with paper afterwards? I think sand blasting them first would make it easier to get rid of the hard anodized surface. After that saning with paper and polishing with the machine to high gloss finish before anodizing - is this the way? Regards, M...

Re: Original carpet binding and heel toe mat for 1960-1963 Ferrari

Hi all, I am also redoing my carpets in very near future - already dissambled the whole interior. A picture of the toe mat would be very helpful - thank you.

refurbishment of Alu strips on rocker rails

Hi everyone, I want to refurbish the 2 aluminium strips on the rocker rails. As these do have a profile and cannot be replaced I want to sand them down and polish them - anybody who did this already and does have experience? Secondly the surface was treated somehow - I am sure it was no plating (lik...

Re: light knob removal

Hello all, Thank you very much for the information. I tried to upload the picture but it does not work. Around the knob there is a green plastic ring which obviously should light when lights are turned on - unfortunately it does not now. It has the pull/turn mechanism. My car is 250@GTE #3631. I am ...

light knob removal

Hi,

does anybody know how to remove the black plastic knob of the light switch? I removed the little grub screw but the know resists any attempt to get it off. What does the intake of the plastic knob look like? Is it a screw or just a bolt? Is there a special trick or something?

Indicator switch - automatic return?

At my 250 GTE the lever for the indicator does not return automatically to the neutral position after I finished the turn of the steering wheel. Is this normal/standard or does my indicator switch need repair?

Bad experience with ANSA exhaust system

I want to provide my bad experience with a brand new ANSA exhaust system, maybe this can be of a help for someones decision when looking for a new exhaust system. I decided for ANSA despite the high costs as I wanted the most original parts I could get for my GTE. The work of ANSA is frowsy as the t...

Spare parts catalogue

Hi,

I was offered a spare parts catalogue for bodyparts (Eur 145.00) and a parts book (Eur 135.00) for my 250 GTE. Does anybody know whether this is something that can be downloaded somewhere or is this of additional value to all the free downloads available?

Martin

dip stick of gear box at 250 GTE

Hello, I have changed the oil of the gear box of my 250 GTE and and when I opened the refill plug I found that there is no dip stick. My car has the same chamber for gear box and overdrive, so there is only one refill plug. The plug screw looks the same like the ones at the differential. Shouldn´d t...
