Re: 1969 365GT2+2 power steering
Hi 365, I'm sorry I'm so late answering. I just received my notice of your post. I've sent you an email with the procedure attached. One might ask, "Why disconnect the tie-rod ends to adjust the steering?" The answer is, "So you can feel the resistance in the steering wheel when the steering gear 'c...

Re: making spark plug wires...
Right! But you have to be careful. Make sure the terminal slides into and out of the distributor cap without resistance. The distributor hole is for 7 mm wire. If the terminal were to drag or stick in the hole, it could be pulled off the wire when trying to remove it and you would then have a devil ...

Re: making spark plug wires...
Regarding making spark plug wires, and your original distributor cap end problem, I solved that problem with a little patience. Most plug wire kits come with do-it-yourself crimp-on terminals. My terminals had a small hole in them opposite the split side, but if yours don't, you can drill them. I tr...

Re: Radiator fans
Hi Jim, My Euro Queen also had trouble keeping up with the heat generated by the engine on moderately hot days. I solved the problem without outwardly affecting originality. The key word is outwardly . I wired the fans through relays directly to the terminal block on the left fender well near the al...

Re: Hibernation Start Ups
John, If, after filling the fuel bowls with the electric pump and after pumping the accelerator pedal 3 or 4 times, you then wait about 10 seconds to let the fuel evaporate a little bit (vapor ignites at almost any temperature, liquid doesn't burn at all), then crank the engine with the throttle CLO...

Re: its Done
No snow yet, but it's getting cold, the snow geese are gathering over my house by the thousands for their trip south, and all the fall colors are almost at their maximum. We will probably get snow within a week or two and once it starts, it probably won't stop. I unplated the Mercedes today at the l...

Re: its Done
Mark, Let me guess. The plan is for Zac to do a full blown restoration in three months (easy for him), truck the car to Palm Beach, you meet him there to pick up your Platinum prize, then drive back to Maryland in a convoy with Tom's 330 America and whoever else you can convince to participate. If b...

That's my man! I envy you. Balls like THIS , brains like this ! If I still had my queen or if my Pagoda was finished, it's the kind of trip I would love to take. How about Grigio Ortello 2.443.813? It would look even better with your black leather. I know you want something like light blue, but I th...

Re: A big step forward for 4247 GT
Here’s a cheer and a some smart arse comments! (Smart Arse Comment) - Help! Somebody get me some coffee. I must have dozed off. I dreamed that I just saw a photo of Tom Wilson’s 4247GT with a new coat of primer – actually getting better, no longer slowly rotting away with age. (Cheer) - Tom, you and...

Re: Mixed Feelings
I would like to mention that the reason I haven’t said who now owns my car is that I don’t know. I sold it to Steve Markowski of RPMVT, who bought it for a client. I expect I will learn eventually who has it now. But now the reason for this post. I never expected to open any hidden emotional wounds ...

Re: Mixed Feelings
I hope that we will be able to see that Mercedes some day... Where's FCA2012 going to be? By then, it should have a couple of new floor panels, new paint job, a rebuilt long-block, and be all back together again. By the way, I think the floor pans on the Pagoda were designed by the guy who designed...

Mixed Feelings
As some of you know by now, with Zac’s help, I sold my 365 GT 2+2 (Serial No. 12293). As the thread title indicates, I’ve got mixed feelings about selling it. Though probably nobody cares, in order not to discourage someone who has been lusting after a Ferrari but has not yet made the leap, I’m goin...

Oh hell! I couldn't resist. Here it is: Patent No. 85985 Patented by Saulo Busilacchio of Castelfidardo on March 23, 1962 (No Ferrari Connection mentioned). Description: Translated by internet translator and maybe improved by me. Portable lamp in plastic for drivers in general, with swiveling reflec...

Re: Anybody see one of these before?
Brev is not a mark ,but means in Italy :Patent( brevetto) So no Chinaproduction for sure, but Italienproduction. thanks Or it could be cheap French stuff, since BREV could also be Brevet (French for Patent). I wish I had time to do a patent search in the French or Italian system, but I'm familiar o...

Re: Aerioquip hoses revisited
Thanks Tom. What did you do about the compressor? Did you replace it with a new one designed to withstand the added compression of R134? NO. When I bought the car 25 years ago, it had an 210 York compressor and a mixture of Gates rubber and original 1540 hoses. It had already been converted to R134...
