I too am on their mailing list but have never done anything more than dream. I found them expensive also but after checking the hotel web sites, I found that without the wine, food, side trips, organization, mechanics and other features, the hotel rooms alone were almost half the price of the event....

VINTAGE RALLIES or Similar Experiences
Has anyone here participated in any of the Vintage Rallies organized by Rich and Jean Taylor - like the New England 1000, the Mountain Mille, or the Texas 1000? They sound like a once-in-a-lifetime vacation. If anyone has experience, please comment. Please feel free to discuss other similar events. ...

Tom K: Out of curiosity, what does the modern starter motor sound like? Does it have that distinctive moan that I associate with mine (probably a combination of the starter motor itself, the pinion/ring gear combination, and the engine mechanicals stirring)? David, My original one (bad nose bushing...

Re: Rebuild Starter or Fit Modern One?
The starter failed on my 250 Lusso. Should I have it rebuilt or fit one of the modern replacements? I would love to hear the pros and cons. Aloha, Mark Mark, I fitted a modern one on my 365 GT 2+2, in fact, the ones advertised on ebay use a photo of my original one beside my new one. They used my s...

Dan, The best measurement I can make with a dial caliper is 16mm center-to-center for the two tubes. Additionally, the vehicle-front tube on each oil separator (the separator to carb base tube) is 8mm outside diameter and the vehicle-rear tube on each oil separator (the air cleaner to separator tube...

Tom's 400 photos above are correct for a 365 GT 2+2 also. I solved the cable winder orientation problem when I changed my cables by: 1) measuring the pulley positions on either door relative to the motor/gearbox winder pulley, 2) installing the 4 upper pulleys from the two doors (the removable ones)...

Not to get too anal, but the length of one leg of the "equilateral triangle" would be informative, if a triangle is what's recommended as being "correct".Rudy van Daalen Wetters wrote:Yes, we need to see that it is an equilateral triangle.

The throttle return spring and its mounting bracket should also be black oxide. Hi Motob, I forgot to include it in the batch, but I'll get it coated next time! Tom Tom, You don't have to "get it coated next time!" You can just go to a sporting goods shop that sells guns or a gun shop and buy a tub...

Jim, The info you just posted will allow me to replace my "cobble job" belt system with an "as built" system. I have all the attachment points that you described but my current system is a retractable three-point front, non-retractable two-point back design, with the retractors on the lap portion (b...

The research on lap-only belts is well known, three points are the only way to go. My US version 365 came with manually adjusted three point belts, front and rear - with only one buckle for each seat. There is a double loop at the buckle on the strap coming from the shoulder portion which allows a ...

Congratulations, Kerry, Like you, I'm an old Fart, even older than you - 62. But I've had my 365 GT 2+2 only 22 years. That's a whole 6,000 km. I've walked more than that in 22 years. I, like you, hope that I can continue to enjoy cars (maybe not my Queen, but others) for another 25 years. Anyway, h...

Gerry, I'm sorry for the major wild goose chase. As I mentioned in my last email, I found that my pump won't fit your engine. SORRY! Maybe someone here can help out a fellow FERRARISTI with a spare pump body. Tom Shaughnessy undoubtedly has one in some parts bin but it won't be as free as the one I ...
