330 Series 1 Nose Panel

Post by cory »

Would anyone have a picture of a series 1 nose panel? I have seen Kerrys site with his pictures of a series 2 but want to confirm the series 1 mounting hole placement and general shape in order to make one.
Thank You

Hi Guys
I am pretty sure it is attached to the front lower nose section as the others are, 3 bolts I assume. I am unclear how it attaches to the frame as it goes over the center steering link and ends. As for measurements, maybe just some basic dimensions of overall width and length. A picture would be great if at all possible.

Greetings Cory…. You mean the panel that runs under the radiator. I just happen to have mine off so I'll get pics and measures to you tomorrow.

Hopefully here is a picture. the front is 30 1/2 inches wide and the rear is 20 3/4. The sides have a folded edge about 1/4 inch wide and the rear has one about 3/4 inch wide. None on the front edge. There is a slight break in the panel about 1 inch from the edge and then the panel rolls down and back. there is a rectangular recess worked into the panel by the drain hole for radiator clearance. There is also a liberal application of dirt grime and grunge on both sides-sir of like the rest of my car.

Greetings… At the rear of the panel are 2 hole for 6mm bolts, The panel slips over the front sway bar and under the frame and is held by 2 bolts. there should be 2 holes in the frame just inside and behind the sway bar mounts. I think there may have been some rubber biscuits attached to the bottom that cushioned it from the sway bar.

Perfect. Thanks Tim! You didn't happen to notice if your build number was stamped into that panel anywhere. It would be the same number seen on your rear and front wheel well aluminum panels, hood latch, rear trunk lid latch, trunk pan (where the spare tire holding mount is located), etc. Just curious. How are your heads coming along?
Thanks again

Both this panel and the belly pan were supplied/installed by Ferrari, thus no body number!

a picture of the panel in situ. At rightt edge is the lower body panel below the grill with 2 of the mounting holes visible. Front roll bar at lower left. Panel runs over the roll bar and fastens with 2 bolts just inside the sway bar mounts.
