exterior colors

Post by afwrench »

I have a 365gtc4 , color has been described as both Biege or Marrone. I have been unable to find out what it is. Can someone provide me with a description of both of these colors. Also does anyone have an idea how many of the original 500 of these cars have survived, would be cool to know same # info on all of these vintage cars.

Marrone is Italian for brown. It would be darker than beige. The beige color might be nocciola, light brown or tan.

I've got a page in the 330 GT Registry on paint colors:
http://www.parrotbyte.com/330GTRegistry ... Colors.htm

This is more applicable to earlier cars than a GTC/4, but the Ditzer/PPG paint codes spanned a number of years.

If your car still has the original paint, there should be a sticker (probably in the trunk) with the paint code. Otherwise, you could get a heritage certificate from Ferrari Owner's site (http://www.owners.ferrari.com) which has the original interior and exterior colors.

Send a photo and info to Tom for the Ferrari Owner's Gallery and everybody can all comment on the color.
Regards, Kerry

My car is listed as Marrone - the paint is still original - and it is a dark dark chocolate brow that almost looks black in the shade

I just painted a 365 2+2 and upon stripping it found the original color, a very interesting medium non-metalic green. I have a photo if anyone is interested.
