The NART race team run by Luigi Chinetti was a very professional outfit, with a fine crew. The chief mechanic was a Mr Sicard - would this be the same Francois Sicard who helps you with your car?

Hi Ade,

Same guy. Francois' history is pretty amazing. He's a kind of "Zelig" of the Ferrari world. If you look carefully in some of the old NART pictures, you can see him in the backround!

That makes him one of the legends, then. I guess he would have known 'Feel Heel' as well? Francois would be one of the ideal chaps to bench-race with.

I'm sure he knows Mr. Hill, and all the other players from that era.

I once went to a Louis Vitton car show here in NY with Francois and his wife, and you should have seen who sat with us for lunch! Brian Redman was among Francois' friends swapping great stories about the "old days!"

Francois doesn't talk much about the old days, but when you get him in the right mood, he's got great stories about Forghieri, Chinetti, and others. How many people who work on Ferraris can say that they trained at the factory in the 60s?

He's pretty cool guy, and I'm honored to work with him.

You need to throw a rope around him and get him to write a book. With so much trash out there, it would be so refreshing to read something written by someone who really knows, and has such a unique perspective to boot.

If he kicks, "ghost" write it with him. Seriously. I would buy it in a second.
