Tom Shaughnessy and Zac Dugger's new Shop
Those Rotary lifts are pretty nice as well! They look to be well worth it as far as operating space goes.
I must say, though, there was something about the "charm" of the warehouse in downtown San Clemente which I rather enjoyed. Perhaps if they dumped a few cargo containers filled with parts in the back parking lot . . .

Tom, it was nice to meet you! Tom S. & Zac, once again, thanks for a great time.Tom Wilson wrote:Wayne Ausbrooks made the trip and his GTE (SN 4289) ended up parking in some fine company!
John, my car is Rosso Nearco - nonmetallic red with a slight brownish tint - what some people might call "brick red." 2169's new paint is more burgundy in color and has quite a bit of metal flake in it. It's much more of a "show car" color than Nearco.John Vardanian wrote:
Zac, is your color same as Wayne's?

Thank you. I swore I would never buy a red Ferrari and upon first seeing photos of 4289 (in direct sunlight, it photographs as RED), I was already figuring a repaint into the cost of the purchase. One of the reference points I had to look at before making my decision (I eventually bought the car sight-unseen and had it shipped out) was Alan Boe's Cavallino article, "2+2+2." In all of his photos, the paint appears to be bright red, yet he refers to the car as being "burgundy."John Vardanian wrote:Hi Wayne,
I am not a big fan of red, but have always liked yours.

Needless to say, I was happy when it arrived!

Ok, Tom you win. But seriously, I have had good luck with Testors paint which is designed for use with plastic models. Testors seems to have
some good elasticity built in. Krylon works well for me also. Even though not original, I find powder coating has great endurance.
