Those Rotary lifts are pretty nice as well! They look to be well worth it as far as operating space goes.

I must say, though, there was something about the "charm" of the warehouse in downtown San Clemente which I rather enjoyed. Perhaps if they dumped a few cargo containers filled with parts in the back parking lot . . .

Hi Zac,

Looks like you and Tom had a great turn out. That's a lot of plates to keep spinning as a one man show!

That huge drawing of an engine is very cool as well.
The artist was there as well, displaying some of his other paintings. Didn't get his card, so cannot remember his name. I am sure Zac could give it to you. Something like that would look good in your garage, Rudy; if you can find the space!

Tom, it was nice to meet you! Tom S. & Zac, once again, thanks for a great time.

Zac, is your color same as Wayne's?

John, my car is Rosso Nearco - nonmetallic red with a slight brownish tint - what some people might call "brick red." 2169's new paint is more burgundy in color and has quite a bit of metal flake in it. It's much more of a "show car" color than Nearco.

Hi Wayne,

I am not a big fan of red, but have always liked yours.

Thank you. I swore I would never buy a red Ferrari and upon first seeing photos of 4289 (in direct sunlight, it photographs as RED), I was already figuring a repaint into the cost of the purchase. One of the reference points I had to look at before making my decision (I eventually bought the car sight-unseen and had it shipped out) was Alan Boe's Cavallino article, "2+2+2." In all of his photos, the paint appears to be bright red, yet he refers to the car as being "burgundy."

Needless to say, I was happy when it arrived!

Hi Alberto,

the shop is in Oceanside, address is irrelevant since Mapquest can't figure out how to get us in their system. So you can call me for directions

Hey Zac, I was looking at my photo of the GTE suspension at the beginning of this thread and noticed that the springs were Green. Is this the way they are supposed to be or is that a temporary coating?

So what kind of paint do you use to paint springs? I would imagine that it would have to be pretty flexible.

Tom,

You use 'spring paint' on springs. Green is the most flexible color.

Ummmm.... Rudy, I am not sure I buy that. I think Pink is much more springy than Green. I know it will spoil my Easter look, but maybe Black Oxide? Some sort of rubber material? Maybe a sharpie????

Ok, Tom you win. But seriously, I have had good luck with Testors paint which is designed for use with plastic models. Testors seems to have
some good elasticity built in. Krylon works well for me also. Even though not original, I find powder coating has great endurance.
