Lucas Fan Motor Brush Replacement

Post by DrewA »

Has anyone had experience sourcing the brushes for Lucas fan motors? One went out on my Boxer over the weekend. I have found a couple different sets around town that could be modified/filed but thought that someone on Tom's board might have gone through this before and found a better answer. Any help appreciated.

These guys are good. They rebuilt my alternator without a hitch. They have a great reputation among vintage collectors around here. Perhaps they can help.

Well I found a source:

C&S Auto Electric in Atlanta, GA

Ask for Terry Smith (nice guy)

They know them as Pantera, Lucas cooling fan motors. Take a look at the web page. It is by a guy who bought my Pantera about 5 years ago. It is the same fan motor used on the Pantera. They also stock brushes for other Lucas motors
