Hi Guys,
does anyone know where I can find the U-joint cap bolts? They are 8mm x 22mm or just a little shorter. The kicker is that they are left hand thread. I need 4.
Mine are rounded and a small pipe wrench was needed to remove them. I have checked Newco amd T-Rutlands. A call is into Partsource and I have tried Dennis Mccann.... Tom S. any laying around?
I have also tried Fastenal.
Thanks

Re: U-joint cap bolts
Hi Wiliam, I can quickly think of only one place that can relate to this 8mm LH thread and that would be a motorcycle service department. The parts department will generally be staffed with a newbie, but the service mechanic will know what is what. So a six pack of beer and a pizza might be the cost of these! You need to know the thread size and what grade you will be willing to accept, but the nice thing about motorcycles is the fact that most hardware is very hi grade.

Re: U-joint cap bolts
With a little tip from Tom, I called Metric and Multistandered. They are going to make my bolts 8mm left hand 1.0 thread for $6.00 each.

Re: U-joint cap bolts
William, please let us know exactly what you ordered(ie, 8x1.0x22 grade 10 LH)? The reason i want to know exactly is sometimes these special bolts are also designed with a smaller hex head for clearances. So an 8mm might have a 12mm hex head instead of a standard 13mm hex head. Also, what Ferrari part number identifies these bolts? thanks for any help on thiswilliam wrote:With a little tip from Tom, I called Metric and Multistandered.
