These spring clips fit inside the triangular rub rail that is under the doors, above the rocker panels. 8 needed per side if I remember.

Hi Kerry,

Are they used to secure the strip to the rocker? If so, how?

There is a flange (like the pinch weld), sticking horizontally out under the door.

The round part of the clip goes to the outside of the triangle. The spring wings clip into the edges of the triangle. Then the center part pushes onto the horizontal pinch weld with the little barbs grabbing hold.

At the ends there are flat metal rectangles with bolts brazed onto them. They slide into the very ends with the bolt going through the body with washers and nuts to hold the ends tight. The holes for the bolts plus the jack holes make it easy for water to get into the rockers, one of the only places that are rust prone on the series 2 330 GTs.

I'll look for some pictures later and post them if they will help understanding.

Hi Kerry,

Got it, it's a friction fit with the clips.

Looks very similar to the parts used on Alfa Giulietta/Giulia Spiders - which were Pininfarina cars of the same era. They are available new for Alfas in need...both the trim clips and the end clips.

Cheers

Same on my FIAT 1500 cabriolet as well (also a pininfarina car of the period). There are a few different sizes of these used on my car, with the rocker ones being the largest.
