Hi Fest

If you are investigating by asking the seller, I would be interested in serial number of the car.

An engine with water in it and that doesn't turn over will need a lot of work. But if the block and heads can be saved .....it would be worth something to someone who holed a block or otherwise did something bad to their engine.

Unfortunately a complete engine rebuild on a V12 like that is $20-25K and the cars themselves don't sell for any more than that. If you need a new engine, buy a car with a good engine, keep or sell the rest for parts and you're way ahead of the game dollar wise.

Too bad the seller apparently couldn't afford a flash unit for his camera.

i betcha this is the same 400i on ebay earlier
(with the engine that would not turn over)
we did hypothesize that the car was flood damaged
as it was totaled by insurance co.

at any rate I have not contacted the owner as yet
(let's see how the auction goes)
agreed, buying it as a spare does not make much sense

if someone DOES buy the motor
then i would follow that the car would get parted out
THAT is what I am waiting for, as there is some stuff I need
