I am looking for Ring Nut Sockets
starting with AV610
My question is:
when referring to a 44mm Ring Nut
is that the OD of the cylindrical part of the nut
or the distance across the flats of the notches
or ????
I was unable to get a clear response to this question from them;
their response (after the 2nd try) was crypitc at best
I may consider the purchase of Tools from this Vendor
if I can find out if they will fit my application

I have secured the Ring Nut Socket
that I have been searching for
(at least one of them, any how)
Ferrari UK has come thru in the clutch
(once again)
I recieved it today
(along with the 'illegal' shipment of Bearings)
'Wrench for Power Steering Pump Support Ring Nut'
listed in Workshop Manual as AV 610
is Ferrari P/N 95970610
Description is 'Wrench, Oil Pump Ring Nut'
must have more than one application
(at least I hope it does!)

I believe the later DOHC Engines with Power Steering
have a different set-up than the earlier cars
(which sounds like the PS was driven off of the Cam)
this set up is more conventional
with the PS Pump suspended
from the front of the Engine
by a Bracket on the Timing Case
and driven by a pulley on the Crank
(in a round about sort of way)
what is NOT so conventional
is the use of the Ring Nut
to secure the Bracket
at the Pivot Point
I plan to leave the Power Steering hooked up
when I pull the Engine,
so I need this socket to remove the Pump
and leave it in the Engine Compartment
without disconnecting the lines
the pump is held to this Bracket with (conventional) bolts
but it looks like a real pain in the butt to get to them-
worth the $25 to save the hassle
not to mention the delight that buying Factory Tools brings
(I carried it around at lunch and showed everyone
like a kid at recess with a new toy)
Factory Tools are worth their weight in gold
IMHO
and it is always prudent to grab them
while they are still available

golden tool
seems like someone out there has taken my
'worth their weight in gold' comment
a little TOO seriously:

as the seller has (5) offered, he may be more than
just a 'casual' user...?
