I'm so ashamed! I bought my 365GT 2+2 in 1985, completely stripped the car for a bare metal restoration between 2005 and 2008, then continued to tweak on it until finally winning a Platinum at Cavallino in 2010.
Tom just wrote in the diary of 2/18/14, in an off the cuff, sort of blasé manner, "After pulling the trunk panel out along with the spare tire, I could see the soft lines connecting the dual fuel tanks were soft and probably the source of the fuel leak."
I'm also pissed off. After owning the car for 25 years and hand restoring it mostly alone, I NEVER knew that the trunk panel came out. I thought it was welded in and never even tried to see if it came out. I worked on all that crap with the trunk panel still in place and me laying on my stomach in the trunk.
If I still owned that damned car, I would sell it.

I have always been one of your fans, so I'll clear up any confusion.
After trailering the car from Quebec City to New York and Maryland in January of 2010 to meet Tom Yang and Mark Dempsey, we drove our three cars to Cavallino Classic XIX in Palm Beach, Florida.
After driving and trailering it home to Quebec, much of the trip in a Blizzard with lots of salt on the roads, I spent about six months cleaning and re-restoring the car.
Everytime I drove the car, I spent a lot more time repairing and cleaning it than driving it.
I sold it to Peter Markowski of RPMVT, who bought it for one of his clients (unknown).
I immediately started restoring a 1967 Mercedes 230SL that I have owned and neglected since 1987. I'm still working on it.
I'm no longer a Ferrari owner, but I am still a Ferraristi and a Tom Yanger. I just lurk a lot.
